Will be interesting to see if 3rd party presets can be added to local library or whether it's a closed ecosystem. While the perpetual licence includes all 'current' presets, most are unusable to me. They need to work hard on this.jules99 wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:13 am The included presets sound amazing but at times a bit overproduced. It's almost as if you're playing loops. But given Current's workflow and sound quality I wouldn't be surprised if we soon get a lot of third-party presets that match your genre.

I own all Minimal Audio plugins and in my account an upgrade offer of 139.30 EUR is available to get Current. I think that's absolutely fair.
I love this synth. I think it sounds terrific. I agree that the current Stream presets are a bit overproduced - I also hope there will be 3rd party packages going forward.
I am looking for my "go-to-synth" for a while and that will be it for now. Let's see how it goes...

Nice, thank you for clarifying!db3 wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:17 amIf you have the new plans active in your account (might be tomorrow if you didn't sub yet) you should see a 'Current bundle' option in your account which is discounted based on perpetual licences you own.enCiphered wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:09 am I still do not get the 199 dollar price tag for owners of ALL effects they have released in the past, these are the same included in current, right? So why would I have to pay exactly the same price as someone who buys the synth but doesn´t own any of the effects for which I´ve already paid for?

How many presets are included in the full version? The same as the demo (about 15 presets) or more?

340 presets (I believe content is the same as was initially available with the original sub)cyberboycoolen wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:32 am How many presets are included in the full version? The same as the demo (about 15 presets) or more?

Wow nice. Do we need to download individually or are they included "out of the box"?db3 wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:43 am340 presets (I believe content is the same as was initially available with the original sub)cyberboycoolen wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:32 am How many presets are included in the full version? I think Current can be an awesome go-to synth.Schleiereule wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:23 am I own all Minimal Audio plugins and in my account an upgrade offer of 139.30 EUR is available to get Current. I think that's absolutely fair.

Edit: and serum of course!

I installed 1.1 last night and was having some serious lag issues and HD spikes in logic - something I've not had happen in over a year since buying a mac studio. It may have been a coincidence with something else going on, but it's made me wary. I'll have to test further. I never experienced anything similar with V1.0.

I don't think 199 is outrageous for Current.
It puts it on a par with Phase Plant's and Pigment's RRP.
Those two have the benefit of being around so can be purchased for about half of that but they certainly weren't that price out of the gate.

I think the presets are there but the assets need to be downloaded once you select a preset.cyberboycoolen wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:49 amWow nice. I noticed this when I was flicking through the Wavetables. There's a little bell shape alert icon that notifies you when it finds something that's missing.
One nice thing they've added is the ability to add individual samples or entire folders via a file browser. These then populate the normal pull down browser for samples which means you can flick through samples with the left and right arrows.
Not sure whether this is an actual import or just a pointer to the files. I'm guessing the latter based on what Minimal said about how wavetables are imported and also by having the option to save a self-contained preset with the assets (samples and wavetables)

The day Current will be at 99USD, I'll purchase it.kraster wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2023 10:23 am I don't think 199 is outrageous for Current.

I can't remember any other synth that has raised so many questions and caused such uncertainty as this one. I hope all this will lead to a solid and beloved product

Just remember that the bubble that is KVR is super small compared to the reach a VST can achieve in the music production world. It's different for niche sound design tools or emulations of studio gear, but for a full-fledged synth like this, MA just have do adapt their marketing and find a couple of additional influencers.
It will take a bit of time, but I'm confident that they will succeed.

Considering they make it easy to roll your own preset pack, I’d imagine third-party presets will be a thing. I’d be curious to hear what The Unfinished, Triple Spiral Audio, and Luftrum would create for Current.
