Does anyone have the Groove Capsule?

If so, what do you think of it?

I'm considering purchasing a loop CD, and the Groove Capsule is one of my choices. I'm looking for a collection of loops for various genres of music, everything from electronica to rock. The Groove Capsule appears to offer diversity, so I'd like some opinions on it.

Also, another question. Groove says it includes MIDI files. Are these the actual drum patterns used in the loops?

If so, that'd be pretty cool, as it would offer more flexibility than a standard loop CD.

These are slices and their associated midi files like Rex or groove control.

Groove Capsule sounds like what you need. There's a lot of excellent acoustic drum loops and also plenty of great electronic loops as well. It's really a great all-rounder. The quality is right up there (Up where? Up THERE!).

I've got it, and
1) It's better and more useful than I expected it to be.
2) I'll probably end up using some of the loops in my work (shh! don't tell anyone!), even though I'm usually a militant[1] anti-loop person. :)

Forever,

Kim.

[1] Ok, maybe not militant. :)

I'm anti- melodic loops. I believe melody is the most important part of music, and using someone else's melodies significantly decreases the value of your music. There's no way I'd use a melodic loop in my music.

I don't feel too bad about using drum loops, though. If anything, using professional drum loops will give my music more polish rather than writing some crappy drum part myself. I was kind of anti drum loops until recently, when I used some electro drum loops in a song I'm writing. They sound great in the song, and I don't feel as though my music has been cheapened.

Deep subject: there is no such thing as an original composition anyway! Think about it. We are all arrangers. 8)

Yeah, actually, I was thinking about that the other day. :D
