UAD plugins will control your DAW

UAD has had very intensive marketing for their native version plugins.
I purchased few of those.
But how should the UAD authorizer work? After installing and autohoring the plugins with the UAD manager, I get an announcement (warning) every time a) when I tun on my computer and b) when I open any plugin in my DAW, that ”the UAD manager will make a change to your computer, do accept, yes or no”.
What the f**k? This don’t happen with any other of my 300+ plugins.
I’m in Win 11.

Thank you for the comment. I have these plugins iLok authorized, but I get this announcement. How come?
Is the solution to uninstall the authorizer manager? And the way UAD has planned their system, is that you are supposed the remove the manager after the installation, and the install it again when you buy a new UAD pkugin?

This has happened a few times to me also. I just figured the UAD manager was updating itself.

As roman.i adviced, I deleted the UAD manager, so far no new "hostile interventions" by the UAD plugins.
I think twice before I buy any other UAD stuff. Only comparable irritating manager is the mad IK system, which includes 3 different plugin manager modules: the plugin authorizer, the plugin manager and the plugin store. In the IK madhouse even these 3 together can't handle, "manage", the very simple situation, where the user want's to install separate plugins inside the bundle, the fu××er installs always the whole bundle.

It happens when the UAD manager updates itself. There have been a series of updates to the UAD manager recently. I am assuming this is because of the way Universal Audio opened up Luna to general Mac users. On a Mac, you can now also manage your plugins through Luna and the UAD manager in return got a Luna section. It is very well possible that the Windows version of the UAD manager also wants to update even though Windows users don't see any of that.

Well, as a master (don't count the MS OS updates in) of my own computer, I will decide what I want to update (if I say "no" once, that should be enough) . But the insolent UAD manager updater dosn't even have the option "don't show this updater again" in the pop-up, the fu**er just appears again and again and again.mgw38 wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 5:30 pmThiscomfortablynick wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 4:02 pm This has happened a few times to me also. Just uninstall it. Not sure what the issue is.Harry_HH wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 5:39 pmWell, as a master (don't count the MS OS updates in) of my own computer, I will decide what I want to update (if I say "no" once, that should be enough) . Yep, just yank it out of there. The plugs run fine without it, I can attest as others have. Then just re-download the software to get things all installed where they need to be if you buy further UAD stuff in the future, then yank it out of there again.

Sure, but keep wanking with UA plugins when I have my hands full of better, more smooth stuff, isn’t an option.Mind Riot wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:05 pmYep, just yank it out of there.
