Indeed, the FFT modules chained together can produce really interesting textures. I mean Melda MXXX can cover most of it but that would take ages and still look terrible218 wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2023 9:42 pm

Yes, its very impressive. I had it since realease and was impressed from the get go, but when v.2 came out and they added FFT processing, which I love, it truly went into a league of its own![]()

Right under the second modulator knob.
"Glide: Glide smooths the envelope transitions to the main knob. For example, if you have a stepped filter curve, increasing the glide control will make the modulation feel as though it is blending into one another, without having to adjust the filter curve. This is also true for the audio envelope - especially with a short, fast envelope."

Before I ask their support. Does anyone have an issue with this plugin in that the effects always reduce the volume of the input source? I have drums going into it, and every effect when it is activated ends up lowering the output volume significantly. I've only really noticed this more recently ( on m1 mac), I don't remember if I saw it on windows or not. I cannot get it to match the gain of the source, even on effects that don't really distort anything, like varispeed or stutter, the volume drops noticeably when I activate the effect. Its very annoying and I have to tune the gain knob by hand to try to match the source on every effect.

I never thought it would gain match, given all the effects possibilities and modulations. Does it?

I feel there is a volume reduction happening behind the scenes. I use this plugin for punch-in effects, not an always-on type of thing. For things like the looper module, and the stretch, I would want that to match the gain, that makes sense, it's just rearranging the existing audio. I understand some effects add some gain or dynamics that weren't there and could possibly add up and create issues, sure, but I fail to understand why I'm getting a huge drop in volume unless I add on an additional 10 or so to the gain slider on every single effect I use, it seems like I'm doing something wrong or different and it makes me wonder what others are doing to not notice this.Dirtgrain wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 1:41 am I never thought it would gain match, given all the effects possibilities and modulations. EDIT: wow, after some investigating on a new project I figured it out! Fabfilter Pro-c2 was after it in all my chains in bitwig. In the Pro-C manual: "Compression is also triggered by MIDI notes. If at least one note is on, the compressor behaves as
if a 0 dB signal is entering the side chain at this moment, so it is strongly triggered. The
Disable/Enable MIDI option in the MIDI Learn menu turns this off as well." - so yeah, user error, disabling midi in pro-C fixed it. This explains why I didn't have this problem before, because Pro-C is a relatively recent purchase of mine, and it wasn't originally on the end of my drum chains like it is now.

It's not that I can't tell when the volume changes--it's that when I'm using this plugin--I'm not going in expecting it to stay the same. I can see why it would be nice for some uses, but for the crazy shit I make with it, it doesn't matter to me, as I have to make changes for mixing anyway. I don't use it for low pass filtering, in isolation, but maybe it's doing what the Moog filter does to the low end?
Good to know that the volume thing is sorted.

Yeah to be clear the volume is a non-issue. What I was originally complaining about was a fairly drastic and noticeable volume ducking, and, of course, it was my compressor responding to midi notes I was sending to infiltrator.
