Weird?

But for me, I think music sounds different depending on the lighting and time of day. And of course, physically, it could simply be a matter of the sun. Considering it's blasting me with UV rays, it's possible that's the key element.
But I had recorded a tune, spent a week painstakingly mixing just a submix of guitars, and once that was out of the way, everything else was kinda smooth sailing. Spent another few days or so mixing the rest of it.
Went for a walk with my wife in the morning, beautiful day, listened back to it, and I was noticing some really fat mids from a particular acoustic guitar on the right side. It hadn't been any issue before that.
Am I just totally off my leg, or do other folks experience similar experiences with regards to where and/or when (setting) they listen to a tune?

I thought it was almost borderline stereotypical for musicians, producers, etc. to flip back and forth between thinking something sounds good and bad then good again? Or just “different”, if good/bad isn’t the words you wanna use.
Like the mix sounds one way (great) at night, then the next morning it sounds different (like trash lol).
For me I don’t think it’s the UV rays more so than the BS rays firing between my ears. My music, other’s music, it’ll sound good one day then meh the next.
I even have this happen with the perceived speed of a track. 128 BPM sounds fast and upbeat, then on the next listen it sounds stupid slow.

you spend hours mixing, your ears tire.
you go away, spend time outdoors, in relative quiet, your ears become rested.
go for a walk at night, you will get the same effect, nowt to do with uv.
you can even just go and sit in a different room, no music or tv. the effect will be the same.

If you did that you wouldn't be able to create. Otherwise how can one decipher something that's significant?
Instead of killing it, talk to it. Ask why it doesn't like something. You'll be surprised how many times it has good points.
Mind you i hardly listen though. I hate perfection. It leads to crap like Maroon 5.

it's just that i know what i'm good at and what i'm not good at
i mean i know for sure that i'm good at speed scrabble, it's easy
but really, one can't be a natural at everything?
i'm definitely not a natural at making songs, it's hard
doesn't everybody have something that they know
they are not good at but still enjoys doing?

I've read more than once that being a natural at something doesn't necessarily mean one will be great at said thing. That it still takes work, even for those that are very gifted. There's outliers to be sure, but so what if we aren't born with some special gift? I think what's more important is passion for something. With passion, one will work and drive, and that can be really something in the long run.
