Everyone has probably thought “I can’t see it getting lower than this price” - especially over the last year, only to have UAD lower the price further.pavvel wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 5:37 pmDefinitely a weird pricing structure going on but I can’t see it getting less than this price. Which ever way you look at it it’s pretty good value…for now.hmusic wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 2:24 am just bought this for $240. First time using UAD and am very very impressed with the plugins.
Messageboards are a shitshow though.
just checked my email and looked through the UAD promotions. Can understand why people are upset.
They really pushed "Bundle month" where you could get the Diamond bundle (28 plugins) for $399 a week ago. Now the new Signature bundle (44 plugins) is $299. And UAD is offering people who bought Diamond the chance to upgrade to Signature for $150.
That is very nasty.
It's probably going to be 54 plugins for $200 for Black Friday and I'm going to feel like an idiot.
Universal Audio Signature Bundle for £299 instead of £8716??

Does anyone around here familiar with UA know if there's a tendency for them to introduce new interfaces during a certain season like xmas, or event, like NAMM? Or is it more: a new interface can be introduced anytime?

If you own any UAD plugin - including the free LA-2A plugin Plugin Boutique was giving out a couple of weeks ago - you should be able to login and see the $299 price.
There was an additional "20% off your first purchase" promo on the UAD homepage when you signed up for their newsletter but that now seems to be gone from the homepage.
This was the promo: https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articl ... Newsletter
If you didn't get the free LA-2A plugin from Plugin Boutique, it looks like you can get it with any purchase. So maybe just buy something really cheap from Plugin Boutique.

As far as getting UAD to release synths on the DSP platform, I think that was a non starter because a lot of their bigger plugs have quite a bit of latency, which really wouldn't work for something you are playing in realtime.
Haven't tested but is latency less in something like the Manley in Native vs. DSP? Or some other plug in that is now available on both?
Also this pricing thing is strange. Hope they are not having financial issues but I never seen it this low. Hopefully just moving in a new direction. For years they were like the go to for emulations, and to this day they are one of the maybe 3 that I trust to get right whatever they release. (not counting 3rd party releases on their platform)

Thank you kindly, sir. I was actually able to figure this out late last night/early this morning. I got the signature bundle. I've always been interested in the UAD Plugins since I had their UAD Spark service for a few months, but just needed to do away with subscriptions.hmusic wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:26 pmIf you own any UAD plugin - including the free LA-2A plugin Plugin Boutique was giving out a couple of weeks ago - you should be able to login and see the $299 price.

Personally, I think their API 2500 emulation is better than Waves'. The Capitol Chambers plugin is interesting.

I honestly believe that they're doing this pricing to compete with Waves.musicdoc wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 3:38 am Also this pricing thing is strange. However, I will agree with you as well. In my mind, this brings back memories of Cakewalk's final days.

I have not used the Waves 2500 but do like this UAD one. I'd never even heard of Capitol Chambers as UAD was previously not on my radar due to cost. When I tried it, I immediately thought it was great. Just tried the Fairchild 670 and thought that was great too. Love the Dimension D and the Space echo. The moog and polymax too. These are all really nice. UAD definitely succeeded in creating a new fan.
The Lexicon 224 UI is not immediately clear to me. I understand it's a re-creation but I think I've got to spend a few minutes reading the manual or watching a tutorial. This is one area where modern design like Valhalla has a big advantage. All the other plugins, I'm fine or even love the realistic design.

Yeah that particular authentic UI is a total PITA. I usually get bored and find something else.hmusic wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 3:52 pmThe Lexicon 224 UI is not immediately clear to me. Alas, it’s one of the best sounding reverbs I have (my current #2). The UI isn’t too hard once you watch the help video.noiseboyuk wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:21 pmYeah that particular authentic UI is a total PITA. you get the "authentic experience" if that has any value for you plus a modern UI.

I can get it and all the other effects for €69 too. But I have so so many nice effects. It's just ridiculous.

Why do you say that? I don't appear to be having any problems.
