It tells me I have to have an Ultimate subscription (I do) and then just shuts me out. HA HA HA
Hey JonSolo! Hang tight we are looking into why some users aren't able to log in. We will get this resolved shortly.
It's, almost certainly, firewall related. Had the same issue.

I love the EX release for my Fantom and am enjoying it. I do indeed like the idea of Galaxias and will see how it fits into my workflow...once it starts, ha.

Today's Roland is so clueless. Their "flagship" is just a wrapper for the same shi* they've peddling for the last 10 years. Give me break.
In one sense you're right. But in another - this is literally acting as a unified library selector for every single plugin and sound Roland make available via Roland cloud. It will show you the icons for every preset pack Roland make, whether Legendary, Zenology, or SRX etc, with any not installed greyed out so it's easy to see what's available to you.

The "Scene presets" feature isn't to be sneezed at either since it can use any 4 plugins from Roland's entire range (IE Legendary, Aira, Zenology, and even the SRX series etc), at once, which allows for some impressive sounds, though the initial Scene Presets list they include is limited (looks to be around 90). Whether this succeeds will likely depend a lot on the amount of support Roland give for Scene Presets, and how many people that appeals to VS just using a host to do the same.

If you don't have an instrument installed it still loads a scene and any layers, without the instrument, will show "not installed". You then get a basic mixer with 2 FX slots and 2 send slots available for each layer, with individual arp / sequencer per layer too.

Since it uses up to 4 instruments at once the CPU usage can be quite hefty for some presets, and it's still got signs of being an early release (all I had to do is press the "New Scene" button to get it to crash). Overall it's not to bad for its first release though. Main gripe would be, if Zenology is slow loading for you, its first launch will still be slow inside Galaxias too.

Not only that but if you click the "My Library" tab in the upper right corner it will filter only what you have installed!

Did you say it's only available standalone for now or am I on drugs and maybe misread? How is that even possible? So what's the point of this, to just play sounds and never record them in your DAW? Please tell me that's a typo. How can you possibly release this without a VST? The fact that someone approved this release without a VST, is just...wow.

GALAXIAS DAW plug-in support coming soon.

Post

if only logic pro could stack a few tracks and insert fx on those tracks....... :wheee:

So this is Rolands take on arturia's analog lab version. Only standalone for now, okay.
Wont be installing if it was a plugin though. Who needs a plugin host inside a host? I never use analog lab since Ive got all the individual synths already. Grouping/stacking and bussing in your DAW has the same effect. Ow and I can send clock/sync to my plugins in my DAW as well, imagine that.

But no requested ACBs, or other features that were asked. An Analog Lab ripoff instead.
Thanks Roland :tu:

Eh, after the latest news, I'm wondering who's trolling who...

KVR: "Y'know, Roland, the load times in Zenology are still terrible, some of the plugins have missing multis and drum patches, the arpeggiator knob in Jupiter/Juno is gone and, by the way, you really haven't released a new instrument in quite a while."

Roland: "We really should make our own Analog Lab..."
