Where are you finding any statement that Carla supports CLAP either as a host or plugin?

On the GitHub of Ildaeil CLAP is mentioned:

But I didn't find anything about CLAP in a quick skim of the GitHub page.

There are CLAP files in the 1.3 releases, at least for win64 (and likely for others).

I currently maintain this myself, but I'll be passing this on soon as I do not have the means to keep it up to date.

I'm confused about CLAP and last night I started to wonder if there is any extra CPU hit using Clap with VST? I don't know what CLAP is, if it works with midi or what, but since the computer has to process 2 different kind of plugins has anyone looked into this? Just curious.

CLAP is at least as efficient as VST2, sometimes moreso, but with more features than VST2.

Forgot the important bit: it is easily extensible to add more features as needed or wanted.

You do not use CLAP with a VST. CLAP is a new plugin format that is a superior alternative to VST2 and VST3.

Ildaeil is not Carla. However much they are related, their releases are not coordinated. I'm sure FalkTX can chime in about this. He follows this thread.

I can find no info anywhere that Carla is available in CLAP format.

It doesn't support it as a plugin (it's currently only available as LV2 and VST2), but it does all the hosting and is the basis for Ildaeil internally. (ie. all of the hosting in Ildaeil is done by Carla as a library. same for Cardinal and Zrythm)

So in that sense it's a "meta host" that can provide CLAP hosting, either as standalone or as a VST2 or LV2 plugin.

I was checking the list and noticed it is mainly the same developers releasing their new plugins in CLAP format, but I don't see the list being extended with new developers that much. I wonder if bigger developers will join in the future like Waves (lol), UAD or NI. Obviously nobody knows, but I just wanted to leave this here for the future generation.

As a beta tester, I know of companies not being on the list yet developing CLAP versions. With some dedicating more time to it to take advantage of the new stuff CLAP offers. Given the waves and UAD universe is a bit more complex, I doubt there will be anything coming very soon.
