Hahahah - yeah, it's just that - I don't know why you or someone else from Roland in an "official" capacity just doesn't come out and point blank say: we are not planning an ACB version of the JX-8P that can be loaded into the System-8. Sorry. Then we can move on.

But instead we just get "we hear you!" or "we added it to our weekly request list" blah blah blah. This is disingenuous and just sows seeds of discourse among your customers when, instead, we get:

So I downloaded it and where the heck is it? Not showing up anywhere I search on my mac.
Hey N 4 LIFE! Great question. On Mac you'll find GALAXIAS in Applications. On Windows it's on the Desktop or in the Program files folder. Let me know if you're still having trouble. :)

I don’t see the appeal of Galaxias. It’s definitely not for me, but then I don’t care for Analog Lab either. If I want to stack a bunch of instruments it’s really trivial to do that with a Rack in Ableton Live, and I’m not limited to plugins from a single company. I’m sure most DAWs have something similar.

And quite frankly the UI is absolutely horrendous, just like ZenBeats. Whoever is designing these apps should consider a career change.

lmao

Look, I'm sure some people will find fun and usage out of Galaxias, but RC keeps making my point for me: what is the point of "taking requests" when RC is clearly doing their own thing and will continue to do-so?

Who on KVR, Facebook, through the main website, or any other social media page said "I would like UVI Falcon for Roland Cloud"?

I know expecting honesty and transparency from a big company like Roland on what their aims and goals are is impossible, but I wish they would stop pretending that they care about their customers desires when they're doing their own thing.

Hey everyone! For now GALAXIAS is a stand alone instrument. DAW compatibility will be released soon. We wanted to get it out there and allow for people to start exploring it earlier rather than later. This was a strategic choice we made, you can expect a DAW version asap.

GALAXIAS is an extremely powerful performance tool, super instrument, and universal hub for Roland Cloud and Roland Cloud sounds. It has its own team of developers who have worked really hard to make something interesting, creative and interpretable. It has a ton to offer and before you make a judgment about what it can't do for you, I suggest you give it a try and give us feedback on the actual instrument itself! It won’t hurt! If it ends up not being your thing then that’s ok. Some people are already finding incredible things to do with it. I’m really excited to see what people do with it.

It’s only available for Ultimate Members. It relies on having access to Roland Clouds library of instruments and sounds. It also cannot be purchased as a Lifetime Key at the moment. I’m not aware on what the plan is in that regard.

Legendary instruments take a lot of time to create, and there will be more in the future. But Roland Cloud isn't just Legendary Instruments, it's the eco system, vision and history of years of Roland technology and I think GALAXIAS fits very nicely in that vision.

As always thank you for your feedback and support! :phones:

I got it to install and work last night. It's a total disaster IMO. Only thing I was looking forward to was stacking all my saved Zen presets from my user bank but of course those don't show up.
Already uninstalled.

IMO, Galaxias is an excuse made up by Roland to avoid having ZERO new releases this year. :hihi:

That, I do not doubt one bit. It's that ACB, which is just:

I can help with these types of decisions going forward: musicians primarily use instruments as plugins inside DAWs. Standalone instruments are the edge case. So, if you're ever like, "hey, should we release the standalone first?" The answer should always be, "no, absolutely not! That's just going to take time and cost money for no real benefit to our customers. They want the plugins."

Glad I could assist. :tu:
