This is amazing news! Anacreon is sooooo damn unique sounding. Hope you are doing well mate!
Any thought of trying to port it to Mac M1 Native? Or Mac in general?

I plan to release cross-platform eventually. I'm currently working towards an SDL-based GUI, which is as cross-platform as it gets. Everything else about the code itself is pretty much platform agnostic, although I am still separating out some of the VST boilerplate from the Anacreon code. Can't properly compiled VST3 plugins run on Mac?
I'll need to get myself a Mac eventually. I already have a Linux machine in addition to my main Windows machine, which is good.
Looking really far down the road, I plan to release a suite of high-efficiency utility/niche synthesizers for drums and other things like that.

If you do go for a Mac for testing purposes, I highly recommend a base model Mac Mini M1 . They can be had dirt cheap (here in Finland they seem to go for about 300 to 400 euros) and can still be update to the latest Mac OS versions.. they are also still extremely fast considering the price (probably some of the best bang for your buck!).

Todo:
- Debug existing bugs
- Unbug future insects
- Rebug spiders
- Relearn C++
- Unexpose patch cables as parameters (certain DAWs can't handle so many parameters)
- Attempt to implement a structured document format for GUI skinning.
- Improve FX section and make modulation work as expected.
- Find a way to make patch cables easier to follow.
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Glad to see you're back Erich! I just revisited this thread a couple of days ago to see what I'd missed and was a little concerned that our communication was the last on here.
I really hope your health has been improving as I'm still struggling with mine!
Wishing you strength and happy bug squashing. Looking forward to the future of Anacreon
Thanks for the update!

To be clear - Mental Health is always going to be a struggle for me. I took some time, tripped balls on shrooms for a few weeks last year, been taking them fairly regularly since then. I work at Walmart now and they offer free therapy, which I've been cashing in on.
Xalama, I know the struggle is real. I feel lucky to have found some options that take the edge off of the worst of it, I hope you find your healthy coping mechanisms as well.
Liero, you can buy it on KVR Marketplace and I'll have to restart the site server for the demo. I'll reply to this post once I have the site online.
Please try the demo first - anacreon is highly DAW dependant right now. Windows/Ableton have best chance at working properly.
In other news, SDL is not working for graphics so I am biting the bullet and going with the PUGL library and plain old OpenGL. I've never learned OpenGL before. Apparently triangles are involved. As someone who is naturally intimidated by triangle-based-rendering I'm apprehensive but willing to try anything to avoid Steinberg's VSTGUI.

Looking forward to trying out the demo again!
Glad to hear things are looking up for you and you have a job and support system rolled into one. Always best when your employer understands.
I've had a radical turnaround in my meds. The changes so far have been good. Still need more guidance and insight to get properly back on my feet, but at least now it's beginning to look possible. One day at a time as they say. But the days are getting better at last.
I really want to see this synth succeed, not sure why exactly, but it gets me in my happy place. I'm sure it does the same for others too

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?
