I cant go without Presswork. I love the bass presets on my low end bus. I sold it some time ago and re-purchased it to day bc its so easy to get an awesome sound with it

I really like Presswerk for the saturation, a lot of times I use it just for that alone. It’s great for catching peaks on drums or mix buss with a little soft clip hitting. I’m not a fan of it on drums myself for heavy compression, but I’ll use it lightly on the drum buss for compression when I’m using it for the saturation already, then compression on the individual drum parts separately with something else. It’s great on vocals!

Pro-C2 is a clean compression powerhouse, Presswerk is character compression powerhouse.
They complement each other superbly and both are my most used compressors, followed by Unisum.

Agree with Ploki above. I have both and they are a great set. I very rarely use any other compressor (and probably don't need to).

After getting this I still probably use Pro-C2, both Live's stock compressors, some PSP stuff and Voxengo Marquis (which sounded wonderful with drive added). The rest I can sell (don't own trackcomp).

U-he Presswerk and The Glue, my two go-to compressors.
Don’t need anything else really. Have lots other compressors for specialist uses but I find that Presswerk+The Glue give me all I need most of the time.

Because it´s a tradition that kicks must be compressed with a 76. Try it and you´ll know why you don´t need more options.

I love Pro C 2, Presswerk, Kotelnikov, MJUC and TrackComp2. Pro C 2 is the one I use mostly.
If I have to select only two, ProC2 and Trackcomp2.
If I have to select only one, Presswerk.

I've been trying Presswerk out a bit, particularly for mastering. I like the control over mid/side behaviour in terms of how linked the channels are, so one can dial in the amount of air/openness from that type of processing. I like the organic behaviour of the compression, i.e. it imparts a certain liveliness.
However, there's something I haven't figured out yet, there's a kind of 'rubberiness' in the mids, which feels like a slight mid-prominence/boxiness, that I'm not liking so much. I haven't yet traced it to a parameter, so I'm not sure if it's the saturation, or something else. Perhaps it's actually just the liveliness that I mentioned, a 'bouncy' feel that for some reason is noticeable more in the mid-range.
With regards to the saturation, does the indicator light off mean zero saturation, or is it a rough guide to there being a significant amount of saturation?
