If they only release a Legendary title every 1-2 years, it is cheaper to just buy the lifetimekey and skip the sub. I am on max lifetimekeys (p4l and loyalty bonus) got 20, so I got it all already.Caine123 wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:11 am i unsubscribed this sh*t cloud cause i got nearly nothing for 2 years and as a long time cloud subscriber you have nothing as a bonus. c'est la vie, im back on this maybe if they release again more interesting things and updates,

With al this ranting and winging about Roland Cloud, maybe this topic should be renamed to:
“Sad state of Roland Cloud”
Same as “Sad state of Native Instruments” topic…

Indeed, and Fantom users seem to be very happy with it (and they should be…now they have the good emulations that actually sound like the hardware). Looks like they did a good job adapting the UI for the Fantom display.PAK wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 12:52 pmHmmm. I dunno.. looks more like they're moving in the opposite direction. This is bound to up in a “sad state of your mom” post so may as well get that out of the way.
When the thread gets updated I think maybe there’s a new addition worth reading about, nope.

Well, it´s tragic that Roland persists with this deeply hated subscription business model. I love the sound from several Roland synthesizers, but using a subscription synth is just out of the question. It´s not newspapers we´re talking about, it´s musical instruments.Atlatnesiti wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 10:39 am With al this ranting and winging about Roland Cloud, maybe this topic should be renamed to:

I didn't mind subscribing to get licences (like a long demo) but fortunately for my wallet I very quickly owned what I wanted and nothing new has come out that I am tempted by...maybe a V-Synth would do it, but none of the old modelled analogue stuff- have that done to death and frankly some of the non-Roland VST versions for some of their instruments sound better to me!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

And short-term thinking heroinists buy heroin. But it´s not a good business model and not good for the community of musicians in the long run. But perhaps you like the serf-slogan "you will own nothing and you will be happy" that the Tyrells and Wallaces of our world is trying to sell you.chk071 wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 3:58 pmThey wouldn't continue it if people weren't using it.hebex wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 3:28 pmWell, it´s tragic that Roland persists with this deeply hated subscription business model. The subscription idea can yield a lot of music if you only want to use some plugins for say, 3 months for instance. They have that special that's 3 months of Ultimate for $49.99 which isn't bad really.

Mhm. Whatever you say.
No, really, this is becoming more ridiculous by the minute. Now the Roland Cloud is like hard drugs they feed to innocent musicians. Internet forums and their inhabitants never cease to amaze me.
That's not decided by what comes out of an individuals mouth, but by how good the business model works, for company and the people out there who subscribe. Seems to work for Roland (and the people who subscribe), otherwise they would have scratched it years ago.hebex wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 4:06 pm But it´s not a good business model and not good for the community of musicians in the long run.
You know how you can really make a point? By not subscribing. But, maybe your addiction is too severe to do that.

Will TR909 be getting any upgrades?
With competition heating up, the only thing keeping me from retiring my Roland Cloud TR909 is its sequencer (mainly cause of the variable track length per instrument the Last Step button allows)
Please add step probability though
