OldSkookVerb is an algorithmic reverb and has nothing to do with a physical (electromechanical) plate reverb. epicPLATE is an algorithmic approximation of the physical plate sound, but not a very good one. It simply doesn't sound like a physical plate, but might still be useful in some scenarios, where authenticity is not your primary goal.

Like all soundtoys stuff, clicks and pops like crazy even though nothing else non-acustica does. Glad I didn't waste any money learning that, though.

edit: I take it back, it's only the vst2 versions that crackle and pop, the vst3 versions work just fine. Odd, and makes you wonder why they bother even shipping vst2 still.
