hey everyone, im on mac os 13.0 and I updated studio one last night from 6.5 to the 6.5.1. Its been extremely buggy for me. Studio One never crashes for me and even with an empty template and doing small amounts of work and trying different plugins its crashing left and right for me. just want to warn people.

yes i backed up gonna delete and install my backup now.

Contact PreSonus tech support. There’s probably something else going on, as I’m on MacOS (14) and haven’t experienced anything like that.

I have the same experience. After updating to 6.5.1 i was unable to load my projects. It crash every time. Something is wrong with this release

Cannot confirm either. I'm using a MacBook Pro 2019 (Intel) with Ventura 13.6.1. Studio One 6.5.1 feels way more stable on my machine than 6.5. No issues so far.

Please, we need to send report to Presonus support for fastest fix .. I am on mac studio m1 ultra , Ventura 13.6 and this is very unstable release .. some of my plugins i use daily crash 6.5.1 consantly .. back to 6.5.0 and everything works perfectly

Ozone 11 plugins, AU only, not works in 6.5.1(disabled sound) ... vst3 OZone 11 works fine .. AU loads fine, but plugins are disabled. OZone plugs are very important . it looks like 6.5.1 is somehow broken .. in 6.5.0 everything works perfectly

I gotta be honest I’ve just stopped using studio one right now. I get sad when every post on studio one forums is a hype thread and no one is reporting these issues. I’m learning sample alchemy and having fun with that on logic right now so it’s not a big deal to me. I love studio one’s workflow but I think it may be time to give into the daw that’s made by my os. Logic even crashed on me while playing with sample alchemy and it returned 100% of my work up to the last second of my project.

So it could be primarily a problem with AU and Apple Silicon? Because on my old machine it works fine (not without flaws, but no showstoppers).

There are similar threads in the Presonus forum, but since I don't have access to Macs with Apple's Mx chips, I cannot check.

(And I have always avoided AU on my Macs. Always have been a VST guy)

I don't use AU inside of S1 and the only Izotope plugin I have is vinyl and I haven't used it in a bit so its not in any of my projects. I think izotope is having tons of issues all around right now from what ive seen on forums so maybe my issue is seperate to those users.

Projects I previously made with Ozone 10 don't playback through the plugin. The plugin is there, it seems to be working in-terms of interacting with the UI but no sound passes through and the meters show no activity. I didn't check to see if they were the AU versions of the plugins but it seems like S1 6.5.1 is having issues with Ozone.

Using Studio One on Mac, I've run into several issues with AU plugins since the last upgrade.

Most work fine, but

iZotope AU plugins are not processing audio, although they load just fine. Switching to VST3 seems to bypass the issue.

Analogue Obsession AU plugins immediately crash S1. Although the VST3's work normally.

Sometimes it takes forever to close down a .song file with AU instruments. Will need to investigate if the behavior is different with the equiv. VST3.
