You can look at any preset that MPE is not working in, in the Events tab, and you do not see the MPE script above the GUI script, so for example Ghost Bell has the MPE script and works, Space Violin does not and does not work MPE wise. The script is visually missing.

This has been fixed in the new factory AFAIKmachinesworking wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:04 amYou can look at any preset that MPE is not working in, in the Events tab, and you do not see the MPE script above the GUI script, so for example Ghost Bell has the MPE script and works, Space Violin does not and does not work MPE wise. The version of V2 in the downloads section of uvi.net is not the latest version BTW.otristan wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 9:58 amThis has been fixed in the new factory AFAIKmachinesworking wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:04 amYou can look at any preset that MPE is not working in, in the Events tab, and you do not see the MPE script above the GUI script, so for example Ghost Bell has the MPE script and works, Space Violin does not and does not work MPE wise. Is there a workaround or other workflow to get falcon to send midi out to another vst in logic?

use standalone version and send to a virtual midi output used in Logic, but you don't have the "total recall" so you need to record the MIDI

Hmm quite the hassle

To be fair, it's that AU decided that MIDI FX would be inline, even with third party devices that can be hosted in the MIDI FX slot in Logic they at that point cannot be used as an instrument, so say it's a drum machine, you can't have one drum track send to some built in Logic drum instrument and have that AUi drum machines internal sounds playing. With Falcon you wouldn't be able to double the MIID arp with external instruments without losing Falcons internal sounds. I much prefer the way DP, Reaper, Live etc. address VSTi MIDI out over the AUi way where you lose the instrument.

It's not one against the other, but AU should handle both IMHO.

yes its a sad thing. Oh well, falcon has enought synth possibilities to make use of the midi sequencers too, so no biggy

IIRC latest version of Logic does support MIDI out from AU instrument plugins. Arp and scale stuff in Komplete Kontrol 3 seems to be recordable now (and there's an issue with duplicate note events that needs to be fixed).

So far the only way I know how to get AU instruments to send MIDI out in Logic or in Unify, the only two hosts I know that can work with AUi MIDI out is if they're instantiated "inline" i.e. in the track itself as an AU MIDI effect. What happens then is if it's say a drum machine in a MIDI FX slot it doesn't produce any noise itself.EvilDragon wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 12:20 pm IIRC latest version of Logic does support MIDI out from AU instrument plugins. In every other DAW I own or have used that can do both VST and AU, VSTi's publish as a MIDI input source, and AUi's do not. So the only way they seem to work is inline in the virtual instrument track that you want affected.

I'm just saying what came through regarding the very latest Logic version and KK v3, which reports itself as an instrument. And Logic apparently records the arp/scale notes generated by KK, which it never did before.

OK yeah that's different, you're referencing MIDI out from a plugin into it's own track, that has been possible with AUv3 for a while now, not surprised they introduced it to AU2.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 5:47 pm I'm just saying what came through regarding the very latest Logic version and KK v3, which reports itself as an instrument. What I'm talking about is using Komplete Kontrol or any plugin that can send MIDI out to another track. In that case the AUi plugin becomes just a MIDI device and loses it's ability to output MIDI. Komplete Kontrol does not publish as a MIDI out device in Logic but Reaktor MIDI FX does.
Going over to Digital Performer 11 (and I would guess Reaper), VSTi's on Mac OS publish as MIDI inputs for other tracks, but oddly enough they do not record the arpeggios on the KK track, just on the target track. KK does not publish as a MIDI source in DP as AU and does not send the Arp MIDI out to the track. Not surprising, probably Reaper, Live and DP etc. haven't update4d their code for the latest version of AU.
