I would have thought having a DAW that worked in musical keys was better for songwriters (live 12, Studio one has scales and in key chord generation). Maybe they mean EDM songwriters!

It’s great that Live now has focus and tools around a musical key and much better piano roll editing, these are serous tools for along with the generative stuff which can be fun and inspirational.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It has been 5 days already since I’ve applied for beta testing, and Ableton still hasn’t approved me. That’s an outrage. :tantrum: :bang: :nutter: :-x

Ditto...and I have upgraded to 12! (although I don't think they take the money now, you just reserve it at the discounted price!). General feedback seems to be that it is pretty stable, I suspect we may see more let in next week....I hope so!

On the bright side the beta is open to everyone so by the final release it will be thoroughly tested, with Bigwig I can't try the new Beta as I don t currently have an active plan .

That is pretty cool how the tone control does different things depending on what wave is in the WT! Like a lot of Live synths, looks simple (not cluttered) but lots of depth. Its more like different oscillators than just different WTs- Nice filters and cool LFO stuff like Euclidian and wave folding LFOs and LFO processors. Very interesting. Like Microfreak on steroids (and it will be in my PUSH 3 SO as a hardware synth!)

Seriously, I think it’s a fantastic update and I can’t wait to play around with it. So many QOL improvements, 2 (apparently) great new devices and whatnot. But the waiting is killing me. Do you hear me, Ableton? You’re killing me!! :help:  :hihi:

Some engines are obviously based on wavetables, but most of them seem to be something else entirely. Which is great. At the moment this is the device I’m most excited about, I really hope Meld is as good sounding and versatile as it looks.

Not sure what you man by 'Open Beta', AFAIK you just apply on the beta site, its a waiting list (they do it in batches so they are not overwhelmed) but it was 'open' . The people who got there first have the beta, for me it says I am an 'applicant' and I will be notified soon....

''You're on a waiting list for upcoming free slots in the Live 12 Public Beta testing. We will open the doors in regular intervals and let the next batch of people enter, to ensure a steady influx of new testers and fresh pairs of ears and eyes.''

They haven’t made the public (open) beta available to the public yet. Only the signup is available.

I believe rod_zero is on the crashologist team

That guy it’s not proficient in Ableton and it’s embarrassing :hihi:

Btw xbitz, nice side-trying to keep Bitwig relevant in this thread… embarrassing as well :D

Are the Ableton Live threads always full of Bitwig-insecure annoyances? A bit too much inferiority complex.

Obviously…
