Yeah, I wouldn’t turn down a white model with putty colored buttons and amber display, old school Commodore 64 style, but those colors do nothing for me. I’ll stick to my red button one and use the black and white screen color.

Well, ultimately, the color scheme is a pretty minor factor for a synth, so whatever

Those go in the ugly thread.

Good demo - closer to what I would use her for, and how I would play it.
Still nothing like the kind of basses I like to make. For some reason all the demos of Nina basses are the open filter fizzy type...
Nothing like deep, high resonance percussive style or bass guitar types,

Sounds really nice but how much is that chorus, delay and reverb? Really need a DRY demo to make an assessment.

I'm going to audition both the Nina and 3rd Wave today at my local music store

But the last time I did, the Nina sounds thicker and fuzzier in the mids, and more vintage sounding than the Trigon did on my headphones. Just as snappy in the envelopes

Much darker overall, less clear, but that somehow doesn't come across in these demos

Post

Wouldn't surprise me if Sequential brings out a Trigon-12 sometime in the future. I don't think I'll be able to control myself!

So the Nina sounded less impressive than it did last time - sounded thinner than memory.
And the big bass and volume drop per ladder filters doesn't have the Trigon's filter feedback to make it back up.
No 12db mode either.
I just didn't feel inspired playing it after blissing out the 3RD Wave....

So for the price it's not worth it for me
Crossing it off my short list...

So, I decided to connect my NINA to my Hydrasynth via CV. I noticed something pretty cool. NINA allows you to configure the CV input to be stereo or mono. This is impressive because the Hydrasynth will only allow for a mono input regardless if you give it stereo audio. NINA can also sum the CV inputs. Honestly, NINA has proven to be very flexible in terms of what it will allow for CV routing. I feel the only thing missing from NINA is allowing some MIDI sources to modulate other sources, i.e. mod wheel controlling the level of an LFO to filter cutoff.

LFO level is a destination, but global per LFO. I’m not sure how they’d do a mod matrix amount as a destination without having a traditional mod matrix. Maybe they could do it in the menu in some way, but adding a secondary source slot. I’m pretty surprised the 3rd Wave, with it’s very “Sequential” style mod matrix, also does not allow for mod matrix amounts to be destinations for other mod matrix slots.

Do you remember how you do this? I've not seen anything about this in the manual.

Here you go:
Yes you can recalibrate the filters, though I will say that they tend to stay a bit out anyway (or they may be more out when you move to another location) due to the temperature differences and the fact that we cant measure the filter as its running. In any case:

go to the Home Screen

Hold the middle soft key and tap the right softkey to enter the service menu

select the filter calibration option

wait for it to finish and then press the reboot prompt
test again
