I'd skip the OBXA with it's chip VCOs and filter, and go the OBX with its discrete VCOs and filter derived from the SEM

Although I'd rather wait for the JP8 clone myself...

Absolutely, the much better synth in my eyes.

Will wait for desktop version but also let others do the beta testing and see how robust those 16 voices are over time.

I'm curious how much those will be.

Keyboard has poly aftertouch, so it means the synth engine uses it, so unless you already have a Poly AT controller, a desktop would not make sense

I'd even consider it as a Poly AT controller with an analog synth thrown in, and knobs will send CC to softsynths :)
But the Hydrasynth deluxe has the ribbon controller and CV outputs

512 patches is a bit frugal for a modern synth

For a bit more I could get the Trigon-6, or for a bit less, I could get the Take 5. Do you see what I mean? I don't feel particularly drawn to a Behringer synth for 1500. But maybe time will change my mind.

The Trigon-6 is double the price. I don’t think doubling makes it a bit more.

All that said, overkill for me as I’m not that sold on that particular original synth’s sound and already have a Hydrasynth Deluxe so paying the premium for a poly AT keyboard isn’t attractive.

If they ever redo the Matrix 12, in stereo, I’d be very interested though.

Are you safe?

Trigon-6 Desktop £2399.99

So yes, a lot more, but still, it's my dream synth, and yes I guess I would want the full keyboard if I were paying so much anyway.

Perhaps the Prophet 5 Desktop is a little bit of a better example at £2199.00

So I do think the price is high for now, but it would have been perfect 6 years ago, when there was no Prophet 5, no Trigon-6, etc.

Behringer have already posted there will be a ‘nice surprise’ on the price.
This is a feature rich lovely sounding 16 voice analogue with poly AT duo timbral with split/layer and duel arp. If they get it anywhere near 1k they will sell like hot cakes!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Price of the UB-Xa? It is currently rumoured at $1500 on another forum.

Ok. A fair price for what you get, I think.

Behringer had said that was the RRP but I suspect the big box shifters will be knocking them out for a fair bit less…
