Suggest bands that fall into this type of sound:

You may like some of the things I do (I do tend to jump about all over the shop though...
) which have a more expansive 'big' layered sound. Possibly good examples being, 'Never had it so good' and 'Enclosed' from '(ahem..) 'The importance of being donkey', and 'The road down to the sea', from 'The liar, the ditch, and the donkey' (there's a theme there...)

I had a listen to your suggested songs. 'Never had it so good' is superb. Perhaps could do with a few synth layers, but even so, the guitar sounds you got make up for it. Nice and trippy once the track develops. I don't see it on Spotify though. I'd stick this one in my new playlist if it was on Spotify.donkey tugger wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 1:13 pm You may like some of the things I do (I do tend to jump about all over the shop though...) which have a more expansive 'big' layered sound. I can hear Cocteau Twins-style guitars in places. Love that sound.
yeah, from 2min20sec 'The road down to the sea' becomes very deep. Love that massive kick.
'Enclosed' is more spacious with more soundscapes.
I've really enjoyed these! You have a good voice too.

flaming lips, you may enjoy granddaddy?himalaya wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:01 pmWilco - such a lush sound. Thanks for the suggestion. I've just added two of their songs to one of my playlists. Good result, even if I haven't found 'the' sound I'm looking for yet.mumpcake wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 6:51 pm Some Wilco songs could fit under this description. Flaming Lips - of course! I'm a fan but never connected their sound with what I'm looking for but you are right, they do tick the boxes. I guess they get to weird at times...

and here is an example of a brilliant track from Tauk ( I love this band so much!) that has some super cool synth noodling, but yet it's not the mood/theme I'm looking for.
Do check this out. I love the chorus!
