Today for the first time on my mac but not pc, it asked me to reactivate, I thought it was because I was updating to 1.88 from 1.87.
I rarely use Rapid, I wonder if the reactivation request that some but not all experience is based on how often you use it.
I think Nexus 3 had something like that once.

It just happens after some OS updates, but didn't understand fully why and when to expect.

I find random hidden authorization files all over my Mac hard drive for various softwares (all unknown as names and contents are random characters) especially in places where nobody should put ever files, such as the root. It is probably OS updates that wipe certain folders clean, thereby losing the authorization. It probably rarely happens on Windows as their updates are not that aggressive in wiping out files, just writing over old system files and updating registry entries.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

OMG - Parawave has sorted out the slow loading time in Ableton - Bravo! Just downloaded the update. Wow! I dislike some of the negativity here but it seems true that Parawave owners need to remember how amazing this synth truly is! Yes, I love Phase Plant and Avenger (too slow for Falcon, or maybe just want to make music instead of spending decades creating a patch) but Rapid just rocks! I love Dune 3 because of the sound, not the complexity. Similarly, Rapid is a beast, and I do believe that if the people behind it connect to the loyal user base then perhaps those quick to drop Rapid, and all the naysayers might just rethink their position. Rapid, I love you!

It's happened to me once, on Mac. No big deal, it took under a minute to reactivate.eagle007 wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 5:36 pm My RAPID has never deactivated either, and I'm on MacOS. Activation and stability is not a problem at all. Rock solid and stable plugin and activation was very easy.

Updated to 1.8.8 and no issues whatsoever. I'm on Windows 10. Never had the de-authorization issue either.

I can't speak for others but that's all I wanted to hear. Just some proof of life.parawave wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:03 pm Sorry for not being all that active here.
There is no reason or incentive to stop the service or compatibility updates. We love our synth and will continue updating it. Even if it's just for our own use.
The recent update was not intended to be flashy but to guarantee exactly this ongoing compatibility and resolve the recently reported issues.
I have been hesitant to reach for Rapid in projects recently since its further development seemed to be in some question due to the lack of communication. I don't think anyone expects you to be here every day but posting once in awhile like you have above just lets everyone know you're still alive and that development will continue.
If you love Rapid as much as we do then that's all I need to know. It really is an awesome synth.
For the record I don't need an update but just hearing that development will continue has eased my mind and Rapid is back in my working line up.

Has anyone noticed that this version seems to be louder than the previous version? My old custom patches seem to be way too hot now. I certainly don't remember saving them that way.
Maybe I'm just imagining it......

Thanks, that's a good question. I'll check next time I boot the studio. Now that I think of it I don't remember what it was set to before the update.aberration123 wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 3:25 pm Has the new install overwritten your audio level preferences?
