This is so much of a case of "BUY NOW" that we are discussing exactly the same thing in two different d16 threads.

Today I saw the announcement on the D16 page. As I’m on a M1 Mac what would be the best decision?

1. Buying the (for the moment unusable) Nepheton, hoping to get the update for free or a very minimal update price.
2. Wait for the actual release, hoping for an intro price and maybe on top of that use my € 25 coupon that’s valid to the end of the year.

Drumazon 2 had an intro price of 89 €, so, I figure a similar price for Nepheton 2, which will bring you down to 64 €, if you use your coupon on it (if you can).

Probably a better price than buying Nepheton 1 now (49 €), and upgrading it then, which will probably be 29 €, so, 78 € total.

Just guess work though.

I could swear one of the D16 guys said in another thread that if you buy now, the upgrade would be free. It was in either the Drumazon or Phoscyon thread.

No I've not done scientific A/B tests. I'm going based off the video demos they showed of Nepheton 2. It sounds like generic synth drums, its not obviously an 808.

Their demo videos/sounds are always highly effected though, overly so in some cases. They are trying to show off the versatility I think. But without all the effects Drumazon 2 can be quite accurate. Though the parameters go way outside of normal ranges and there are additional parameters too. Guessing Nepheton 2 will be similar. Accurate if you want, but versatile.

You only applied the coupon in one half of the equation. The alternative would be buy now for 49-25 using the coupon then another 29 to upgrade for a total of 53.
