Where I like it is that it can do analog nicely - maybe not the absolute pinnacle but still damn good - but you can then very simply put one of a billion twists on that that a pure analog couldn’t do. Great.

In this video we demonstrate one of the new Avenger 2.0 features: The Q4ntum multi fx delay!
This all new delay effect has 3 independent delay lines with each 3 effect slots and one master bus with 3 more effect slots. All effects modulation can be synced to your delay via step sequencer or envelopes. It allows a deep dive into sound design.
Q4ntum is a collaboration between Manuel Schleis and Mirko Ruta

Despite the new features as others already replied on the thread, if the upgrade price is as high as the rumored 99 Euros for existing customers like me then I will keep using the last 1.x version available.
As pointed out VPS Avenger usually gets discounted down to 100/110 Euros one or two times a year. Why should customers pay as much as the discounted price as an upgrade ?
It really should be half that instead !
Make it 59 Euros for the upgrade price and I would upgrade immediately.

nope. I am sorry. The best and cheapest deal for the upgrade will be this Black Friday / Xmas (-BF% it will be around 89€ / depending on currencies and country taxes). I doubt it will be cheaper than that anytime soon.DarkS474 wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 2:59 pm Despite the new features as others already replied on the thread, if the upgrade price is as high as the rumored 99 Euros for existing customers like me then I will keep using the last 1.x version available.

If that is too expensive for you, nothing speaks against continuing with using version 1.8 - which is also fine and has tons of possibilities.

the placements didnt change at all - and never will. But its a complete redesigned look, which you can see. Furthermore it just "feels" absolutely fluid due to a MUCH higher framerate.zvenx wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 3:17 pm I don't get the feeling there is much change in the GUI (except to accomodate new features of course)

Are just pretending not to comprehend?kraster wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 2:59 amEvery post you make is even less coherent.DCrown wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 1:46 amIt is an emulation of a newly defined analog creation. It's an emulation of a new analog creation containing more than enough features to make it sound as amalog as you want to.
Your confusion is not being able to say it sounds or it doesn't sound exactly like for example Mini Moog, but that's not what Avenger is.
Analogue synths are a well defined thing. By definition an analogue synth IS hardware.
A digital analogue synth is an oxymoron a digital synth can only ever be an emulation of an analogue synth.
Back in the day horses were vehicles, so as to your definition cars are no vehicles, ok, I see.
A horse is not a vehicle. It's a horse.
A horse can be used as a mode of transport. It can be used to draw vehicles like carts and carriages. But it is not a vehicle.
A car is a vehicle. A truck is a vehicle. ie. It's primary function is to carry people around.
If we applied your analogue synth vs Avenger logic to your horse/vehicle comparison it would be akin to saying the new "Avenger" car is more of a horse than an actual horse.
As previously stated, an analogue synth is by definition a piece of hardware that creates sounds using analogue circuitry. This is contrasted with a synth plugin that uses digital signal processing to create sounds on a computer platform.
Nobody is knocking Avenger's phenomenal capabilities but claiming nonsense about what it CANNOT be is just daft.
A horse can bring you from A to B, just like a car can, that's the similarity.
A real analog hardware synth has analog sound, just like Avenger can have analog sound, that's the similarity.
Oh I see, a horse is an animal, a car isn't.
An analog hardware synth is something you can touch, manipulate and feel with your hands/fingers, whereas Avenger is software, so it won't ever rust, here we have the difference!
Dev has even confirmed it can sound analog , so nothing to add any more, as Dev wrote discussion is ot, cuz it's not promoted as a softsynth that emulates analog synths.

The issue is not whether it can sound analogue or not it's the fact that you went off on some daft tangent about Avenger sounding more analogue than an analogue synth.DCrown wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 3:21 pmAre just pretending not to comprehend?kraster wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 2:59 amEvery post you make is even less coherent.DCrown wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 1:46 amIt is an emulation of a newly defined analog creation. That would be right at the top of my upgrade limit- Falcon 3, PhasePlant (V2) and Pigments were all massive upgrades and all for free

no... and what should be displayed instead? A Black box?
Extending the OSC would look totally odd and is not necessary, since everything fits well centered there, and would require a complete new GUI redesign, incl all skins.
