Kontakt 7.7: IE: I had to see for myself. That's an obvious special effect, that blur. Same effect to the right with "N". Same "KONTAKT" effect in the blurb's popup. Offset by background graphics it's more obvious.koalaboy wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:35 am Think how great Reaktor could be with a newer modern UI, or Kontakt if they just took the time to ship higher-resolution imagery for their own product (why is their own toolbar so low res even in the new browser in Kontakt 7 ? That should be a simple fix)
that screenshot posts too blown up, so no.
The bits I'll use are a different look. CF., the popup under FILE. If that part can in fact be of higher res, I won't see it even with as corrected as my vision can get. However I can see the specific look is an effect.

Nah, I have absolutely zero interest in that whole area. I did just update to GR7 for 72USD and a Kontakt library Low End Strings, which has a terrific GUI and sound, for $49.DCrown wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 1:46 pm If you liked NI in the past, keep on supporting them now and in future, it's a matter of morality and loyalty. Just buy their expansions.
I've gotten specific breaks (some of them quite substantial) for loyalty from two places now, VSL and iZotope (I expect the iZotope factor is no longer). At the time I had not actually bought from them but had acquired several freebies via a high-end audio interface. I don't think that break on GR7 is a loyalty reward. I'm not that loyal in my enlightened self-interest

Here again is what I don't understand. I get Native Access working. Okay, then in NA, there's a little window that says shop Cyberdeals. So I click. Then the webpage tells me to log in to see my offers. So I don't. Don't want to be in login purgatory again. I don't understand why I should log in to a page that an already logged in app sends me to. No deal for me.

Couldn't see a thread dedicated for Lores, so just asking here before submitting a support ticket to NI if needed...
Anyone know what the full installation size for Lores is? The webpage specs say 72.3 GB, but Native Access is telling me I can't download it until I have a minimum of 180 GB free.

Well in general, I do not have that one specifically, but that is a thing, I've faced it before. and not only w. Kontakt things; yesterday I had around 90GB free on my samples drive but could not install a VSL Big Bang lib. that was 63.96 on the drive from a download size considerably smaller.
The things need extra space for housekeeping during the install evidently. I don't know more.

Lores is exactly 72.3gb on disk - it's installation that needs the space.Choikdoi wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:19 pm Couldn't see a thread dedicated for Lores, so just asking here before submitting a support ticket to NI if needed...

Fantastic and underrated library imo - the kind of thing Spitfire Audio try to do, but not as well. A real gem.

Thanks for the replies. I'll open a ticket to find out exactly how much 'housekeeping' this thing requires for the installation process then. Two and a half times the actual file size seems a little excessive though!
Yes, it does sound like a real gem indeed! Came out of nowhere as an impulse buy as BF has been quiet for me this year and it was going pretty cheap on KnobCloud. Couldn't resist after hearing the videos of it.

Install to an SSD jump drive and then copy it back to whatever drive you want to use it from.

I have K14 Ultimate and want to upgrade to CE but, is it reasonable to do it now OR should I wait for K15 and upgrade then?
And when K15 is out, can I directly upgrade from K14 Ultimate to K15 CE or I can only go from K14 Ultimate to K15 Ultimate THEN upgrade to CE?

Both of the ones I have are completely full. Just bad timing... serious clean up needed!JonSolo wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 2:41 am Install to an SSD jump drive and then copy it back to whatever drive you want to use it from.

Even the upgrade paths have become sad now. In 'what's new for me' they show mostly products that i already own, but don't bother to show that Kontakt 7 would be new for me. And they even show the wrong upgrade path for several bundles...oh my.
It's as if they really don't give a sh** anymore.
In the meanwhile, i can get Steinberg's Absolute 6 (now 50% off) for less money than NI's upgrade offer which for me only contains K7 update and a few soundbanks as being new. Wtf.

Neither does NI apparently:jamcat wrote: Fri Nov 24, 2023 2:59 am I just don’t get why Native Access acts like it’s being run for the first time every time I open it.

Then there’s this which threw me off:
https://community.native-instruments.co ... ation-mark
Then the whole Kontakt pixellated UI thing. Funny story on that: I only this month learned of this lol. My monitor setup for the past 3 years is such that I do most plugin editing on an old Apple LCD Display, and my 5k iMac does most everything else (sequencer, etc.). So I’ve used Kontakt included in Komplete 13 to this month and never knew there was an issue until I installed Kontakt on my Retina Display MBP and was like “hmmm… that’s not right” lol.
I didn’t see anybody mentioned this, but you have to double the size. The installer file that gets downloaded is 70 something GBs, then it installs it, then finally deletes the installer. So there’s that overlap where the size is doubled while the installer is present and the app is installed.Choikdoi wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:19 pm

More than doubles it. Double + another 36 GB on top!i need Help wrote: Fri Nov 24, 2023 3:25 am I didn’t see anybody mentioned this, but you have to double the size. Finally freed up the space though and have to say, it's worth every GB, even at that size. Worth every KB, even.
Is it just Native Access for others, or other NI programs too? That link https://community.native-instruments.co ... pendencies is a year old, but I only just started having issues recently. It's bad, but for me Kontakt is playing up even more at the moment. Having to wait ridiculous times to load any instruments / libraries.jamcat wrote: Fri Nov 24, 2023 2:59 am I just don’t get why Native Access acts like it’s being run for the first time every time I open it.
