The original line-up was *entirely* sub 5'...After they made light rotation on Much they went through about a dozen guys trying to come up with that ideal combination of 'short' and 'studly', but to no avail. The line-up I think of as 'the classic KD' had a Rickenbacher playin' bassist who was only about 3 inches taller than his bass, and a great big chrome drumset, the player of which was for the most part unseen.
Yet another great concept band ruined by the cosmetic demands of music television...

Dire Ear
funny thing is a lot of music sounds like Dire Ear, if you say it with an american accent

I always thought my old band had a great name - we used to get producers ringing us up asking us if they could 'buy' the name for a project. "No!" And I was a bit pissed off when a friend told me the other day that a band is touring under that name right now - fortunately, 5 mins googling proved him wrong - it's just one of the band members using it as a stage name...
we haven't done anything for ages, but I'd like to think if we ever got our act together again, we could do it under our original name.
"so then we became the new originals..."

'Plasmic Honey'...IMHO. If you have never heard them, then you are punishing yourself if you don't check them out right now.

Speaking of Rotting Christ, here's one of the funniest posts on IRC I've ever seen:
<BlackNovember> Yesterday when I woke up I found my missing Borknagar CD under my pillow.
<WinterDemon> Yeah, that's the "Cum residue on your hand fairy"s way of repaying you for the left over man juice on your hand after you finished beating off and passed out with your hand under the pillow.
<BlackNovember> Whoa, so if i jerk off tonight and put my hand under my pillow, I'll wake up with a Rotting Christ album under it?
<WinterDemon> Yes, but not the album with a bonus disc, that would be too greedy...

Necroing this old thread, but why isn't there a thread devoted to suggestions for cool band names?
I just learnt the word Abzumischen
I didn't know there was a special german word like that for mixdown. Would be a cool band name, that has not yet been used.

Not quite on topic, I'm surprised there aren't more male strip clubs called New Directions.

Abmischung if then. I'm not even sure that's correct though, there doesn't seem to be a valid translation for mixdown in german. It's somewhere between Abmischung and Mischung IMO.Numanoid wrote:Necroing this old thread, but why isn't there a thread devoted to suggestions for cool band names?

Abzumischen would be the infinitive of the verb abmischen.
