Harry_HH wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 6:48 amCan’t hear any big innovation here, comparing to the existing best vocoder tools. After the long, delayed development, and the high price, its a disappointment.
(I own most of the Zynaptiq products.)
I agree 100%, because i tested all of Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" modes, and my suspicions were correct all along, because Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" sounds below average and underwhelming.
All of my "MIDI to Voice" audio examples of other VST's that i posted on page 28 of this thread sound much better, and Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" sounds like a poor man's Infected Mushroom Manipulator or MIDI Choir 3.1 lol.
"MIDI to Voice" audio examples that sound better than Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice":
viewtopic.php?p=8668481#p8668481
it all makes sense now why nobody on this thread has posted any audio examples of Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice", because they don't want to publicly expose Orange Vocoder IV's weakness lol, or it's because they are easily impressed by Orange Vocoder IV's "predetermined vocoder / robot voices".
Watch this youtube video, because it demonstrates Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" and the "MIDI to Voice" sounds below average and underwhelming.

So how is midi to voice the defining standard here? Why is it a deal breaker? All the examples you posted sounded like crap anyway--not something I'd strive for. OV and any other vocoder better be able to do a lot more. And OV does. Trial it.

What a terrible overly long, rambling video!CinningBao wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 12:00 pm Not that I've looked at all, but in my mind there are no videos about this so I did one. It isn't a glowing review, and I do have complaints, but it sounds _ooookkkkaaayyy_ for a digital vocoder. Low rez right now but it should upscale in the next hour or so if that bothers you like it does me. I don't cover the synth, only the algorithms.
The presenter didn’t sound like he believed what he was saying, so why would I.
I feel embarrassed for the content maker….

And I'm not embarrassed despite what you might assume; if you aren't proud being you, who are you?
I didn’t realize you created it. I thought you just linked it. I feel bad now.

I'll have to give it another demo if there's new stuff in it. I bought MVocoder last year after trying all the main vocoders and distinctly remember Orange leaving me very underwhelmed. At low quality FSU type vocoding with few bands, they all sound much the same (though some grainier than others). But at high number of bands OV lacked clarity. It was down at the bottom with TAL free vocoder to my ears. But maybe it's improved? Can't listen currently - no access to any decent speakers or cans.
MVocoder has some cracking vids, some stuff I'd never even thought of using vocoders for. One of them was making a type of reverb, and that's a great way of checking quality of a vocoder - it brought out how poor some vocoders are when you try it out...

Dirtgrain wrote: Thu Jun 22, 2023 11:47 am I listened to all of your examples. But what was the point?
In response to these two posts, I got PM-ed:Dirtgrain wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 3:10 pm So how is midi to voice the defining standard here? Why is it a deal breaker? I responded with this:Why are you so defensive, if you truly don't care about "MIDI to Voice" on Orange Vocoder IV or Vocoders in general ?, because you sound very BUTT HURT in both of your replies to me lol, and don't be MAD or SAD, be GLAD!![]()

it sounds like you need some cuddles for your struggles.![]()

And he replied:I don't see any of the descriptors you used applying to what I wrote. I don't see a response to the content of what I wrote, either. What am I missing?
I post this for posterity--don't engage further with they guy. He's trolling.Do you need an adult in the room to explain the basics of "MIDI to Voice" and how to setup "SideChaining" on your DAW ?, or are you just BUTT HURT that i pointed out Orange Vocoder IV's crappy sounding "MIDI to Voice" and you can't handle hearing the truth about it ?, lol.
Just breathe and calm down, and don't fall over and hurt yourself! lol, because it sounds like you're having a mental breakdown over my comments about Orange Vocoder IV's crappy sounding "MIDI to Voice" lol, weirdo.
it also sounds like you're pretending that you couldn't read my previous private message lol, so here's my previous private message in the below quote, nice try.

Oh the WE poster.. he did a very similar post on GS, couldn't quite figure the reasoning.. I just put it down to someone who doesn't have anyone near them to bat these ideas off so their opinion's become so warped it ends up sounding like that. Egotistical and unwilling to see another person's perspective. Not your 'classic' troll, but not far off.

Likely very young too. That BUTT HURT specifically in capitals has the strong whiff of adolescence. You have to be pretty immature to use that, the obvious implication: butt hurt = f**ked up the arse = gay = submissive. I mean, who outside of school (and Neanderthal sub IQ class) uses gay as an insult, especially in any artistic field? Though from what I see in US politics it might be more common there? Dunno the US well enough to say. Anyway, he can't be your normal troll as they don't usually PM. Teenaged, thinks he's cool but extremely insecure, especially of his own sexuality springs to mind the most. If nothing else picking apart his immaturity in public (even if he's technically though not mentally an adult) is at least entertaining. And it'll wind the f**ker up no end, shall we wait and see...(this could turn into a good one)

quick question, this is the only plugin im missing from Zynaptiq, but i read some split experiences, some say it is too harsh and limited in controls compared to XILS, Arturia etc. and others are very happy. i wanted to use some vocoder for some sketches and i dont want to get 5 vocoders but 1 which i can rely on with a lot of possibilities, Zynaptiq is mostly awesome quality, can you recommend this one also in the terrain of Vocoders?
what was the intro price? atm you can get tit for around 90 bucks.

Don't read so much, don't watch so many amateur YT videos. There's a demo version available for download, try it out and form your own opinion. There's no better comparisonCaine123 wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 10:53 am but i read some split experiences, some say it is too harsh and limited in controls compared to..

What a great Vocoder! The only one I've really been able to imitate the one used by Giorgio Moroder in E=MC² from 1979.
Thanks to the developers for the best Vocoder on the market!

It is a massive upgrade from the previous version. Zynaptiq really have geniuses working there.
