Agreed that the jbridge dev is awesome - such a kind guy.
Do any of the other bridger options besides jbridge allow you to run 64 bit plugins (but with the CPU managed outside of the DAW like jBridge lets you do)? VST3 plugins?

Will metaplugin make bridged files that will show up in the plugin list? I like to be able to load bridged plugins like any other plugins. I've had great experiences with jbridge. It either works or it doesn't. No stability issues or bugs. I've gotten down to just a couple plugins that I run with bridging, but I use jbridge for that. There are a couple unstable plugins that will run in Bluecat patchwork but that crash the bridge process in jbridge.

I use Metaplugin and it works very well on Mac OS X 10.14 Mojave to run 32 bit plug-ins and also to run VST plug-ins on Logic (which normally accepts only AU plug-ins). Very good for this, I'm very satisfied. No, it does not save bridged files, but any hosted (32 bits or VST) plug-in can be saved as a Metaplugin preset (so you open Metaplugin and then you choose the preset, likely having the same name of the hosted plug-in, and the right hosted plug-in opens automatically).

What about Blue Cats Patchwork? That’s been around 10 years, five or take, and is still updated.
I haven’t had a 32bit plugin for years, so can’t test that out. But there’s a demo.

DDMF BridgeWize - avoid it at least if you are using Cubase Pro12 as me: it is the worst bridger ever: any plug I bridge, it immediately freezes Cubase Pro 12 as soon as I insert such plug into C12 fx slot - useless! Also it adds "DDMFBridge" word at the end of each bridged 32bit plugin, so if you are trying to recreate your old projects which require the exact dll name it used when you created your old project years ago, you are lost here (well, I played with it for some time, and you have to manually yourself change also the names of each bridged plugin corresponding settings file under "Users" folder structure here: %appdata%\DDMF\Settings\32\ ...to have your bridged files WITHOUT THAT ADDED WORD TO THE DLL!!!)
jBridge (v1.74 here) is the better in this regard: it is able to bridge even the oldest 32bit plugs from like year 200, really. For me it was able bridging everything, INCLUDING OLD MB PLUGS, like the one for subbass, I am using it constantly with no issue whatsoever.
In my point of view, the best ever is most definitely internal bridger of FLStudio (it is able to bridge ABSOLUTELY ANY AND ALL 32BIT PLUGS!!!), unfortunately, they did not released it as standalone app, it is only inside the FLStudio...so yea, jBridger is the way to go!

I have both and both are buggy with the few obscure plugins I use them on.

Anyone using Metaplugin or Superplugin as AU on Mac OS Sonoma? I'm wondering how stable it's likely to be.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

DDMF support is very responsive. Which 32bit plugin crashes did you report?qraqatit wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 8:29 am DDMF BridgeWize - avoid it at least if you are using Cubase Pro12 as me: it is the worst bridger ever: any plug I bridge, it immediately freezes Cubase Pro 12 as soon as I insert such plug into C12 fx slot - useless! jBridge is IMO more stable, I've never had a crash and use it a lot for some older ArtsAcoustic stuff (where the 64 bit versions don't work very well).
Metaplugin I find brilliant, but with 32bit plugins I had a lot of crashes (especially with the ArtsAcoustic BigRock).
