I never thought I'd buy a MBC, I believe I can reproduce what it's doing with two separate plugins, but I find this one very tempting.

It's not just clear - it opens everything up whilst giving immense girth (but not loosing phase coherence !). one could say that it's Jeroen's GIRTHDAY present for us...

It's not really a matter of underrated. it's the tragedy of the industry that has long gone haywire.
Tons of stuff is "underrated" - just point you finger towards some arbitrary (respected!) dev and you'd go "underrated ! can't believe I forgot about this !" [and gazillion sentences alike].
We're in a deadlock [good one, but still... it's continues to punch a hole in our pockets]

And Barricade 3 and Barricade 4 and Compressor with its upward facility and the EQ with its cracking parallel processing and ReelBus and Morphit and...

You get the idea.

So yeah, I bought MBC, even though it's not on sale.

Note that the plugins are so decently sized that you download the whole pack of all plugins at once, and you get not only the plugin versions, but also the standalone versions of each effect !

And you get 2 free plugins: the goniometer and the spectrogram !

This multiband compressor is very good !

I like using EQ4 before it with just a touch of dynamic EQ on the bottom and a slight lift on the top and then let MB4 work it's magic...

Two different beasts, ToneBoosters MBC has more features (saturation, upwards and downwards control for each band, etc,), but ProMB is stupidly simple and fast to use.

I have and use both for different things, if that helps you at all

I own fabfilter , dmgaudio and toneboosters.
Fabfilter are quick and sound very good.
DMGaudio can be COMPLEX but very very clear.
Toneboosters are quick and can be tweaked.
Regarding the price , toneboosters beat them all.

It's very nice, but for ultimate functionality I'd like to see clearer average gain reduction readings, and also control for channel linkage.
