Audified Linda IronVerb metallic reverb

There's a new reverb by Audified.
Never heard of this dev before.
Seems to sound pretty well, though
Would you recommend it?

That’s why I can’t wait to try it. I’ve listened to the demo and heard... nothing special.
They claim it’s absolutely unique sounding : pure marketing or material-dependent ? I want to know.

OK, I've just tried it.

Round 1 : this "metallic" thing is marketing to me. When you engage it, you get some kind of feedback. Not bad, not a game changer.

But the good part is that the reverb sounds absolutely superb to my ears. It's alive, full, dense...

Agreed. And also... what doesn't sound like marketing nowadays, I mean read anything that PA writes about every new (iteration of an already existing tool) overhyped thingy they make. Or Slate... or... [fill in the blank]

Once again agreed. It sounds really good to my ears (pop/rock mainly) and most importantly (for me): quick and easy. I want to play and compose and nothing gets in the way. I'm usually a Valhalla person, but sometimes I get tangled in tweaking parameters... and forget the music. This reverb is efficient and user friendly. Just my 0.02 doubloons.

True, Plugin Alliance are unnecessary bulls#it superstars. They once ran a poll that I answered, asking what they could do to improve themselves : the first thing I said is that they should focus on what the plugin is doing instead of spamming various forms of "this is the best thing you’ve ever heard" and "we’ve succeeded in recreating the perfect tool you’ve been waiting for" 650 times a line for 3 paragraphs.

I don’t read this horse diarr#ea, I think most users who did not discover plugins yesterday also don’t, this is a waste of time for everybody on Earth, including my cat, because while I’m looking for the relevant informations though this nonsense I’m not playing with him.

Btw for the people who have never heard of Audified, be sure they are excellent plugins designers.

To my old ears it's a good first time reverb buy, for generic purpose, nothing more.

It doesn't sound bad, don't get my wrong, but for people who own already thousand of other reverbs it is nothing magic or special.

It is pretty nice on guitar imo
I also tried it on e-piano, but didn't like
it that much. Maybe this so called metallic
character works well on guitars.
Since there are so many reverb plugins and
many a man already has a lot of reverbs,
the price tag might be an important reason
whether to buy it or not.

Audified has some nice plugins. Got one of their older bundles for free if im not mistaken years ago; saturator, preamp etc. Not shure about this one as i have enough reverb plugins. Too much actually.

I bought this last night and I already have Linda Rockstack, which is really, really good but a bit of a PCU hog, as well as both Peridot and Sphene, which are "pedal" effects aimed at bass guitars. Their stuff seems primarily aimed at rock bands, not electronic music, so they are very useful plugins for what we do because they can make anything sound more aggressive. IronVerb's party trick seems to be a really short delay with plenty of feedback to give it that metallic feel and it works pretty well. The proper reverb presets are mostly OK and some of the plate reverbs are actually very good, but when they try to use it for chorus effects, it's less impressive. CPU use seems OK most of the time.

Honestly, though, if I didn't already have the other Audified products, I might have passed on this at $49, but I'm glad I have it now and I can see it getting enough use to justify the expense. It's quick and easy to work with and if you are looking to toughen up your drums, vocals or synths, it might be a good fit. But it's definitely a special purpose reverb, not something you will use everywhere. It's also reminded me that I need to try out more of their products.

I agree. I have learned to accept the fact that Audified plugins do require quite a bit of CPU, but they're really, really great sounding tools. I've been recently struggling with some live drums that were poorly recorded. I decided to go for a telefunken u73 emulation and I went for the PA neold, the Fuse one and the Audified one. As much as I like Fuse, Audified was heads and shoulders above the rest. In fact I immediately sold the neold one (I know its also Reimund's work, but somehow it was the worst sounding of the three). The price was more CPU usage, but in this case, I was completely happy. The kick was rescued!

It's quick and easy to work with and if you are looking to toughen up your drums, vocals or synths, it might be a good fit. But it's definitely a special purpose reverb, not something you will use everywhere. It's also reminded me that I need to try out more of their products.

That's also what sold me on it. It's just quick and easy. I don't need to put my guitar back on the stand and start tweaking a multiplicity of parameters. It feels like tweaking any of my amps... you just know what knob to mess with.
And yes, it feels this is all rock stuff. I don't think I'd pull this reverb for a classical or a flamenco piece...

Currently under $18 at AudioDeluxe on sale. Audified pulled this from the market when they shook up their product mix and then stealth reintroduced it recently.
