CM with Icarus 1.6 is available now.

I couldn't find any details about upgrading to version 2/3.

in the mag it does say you can upgrade the CM ver. of the synth

To be able to run the full version you require a valid licence and a key-file.
keyfile is inc. in the zip but I'm not sure about the valid license

Just to be sure: upgrading (in contrast to buying a new v2 license) from 1.6 to 2.5 now also includes the upgrade to v3 later?

from the download page one should understand that the upgrade includes v3 as grace (free upgrade)..
- any version to Icarus 3.x or 2.5 -

Anyone who owns a license for Icarus 1.x (this includes Icarus CM users) can upgrade to v2.x or v3.x here:

You must click on "Upgrade to Icarusv3.x or v2.5" on the right side.
This upgrade link already includes a licence key for the upcoming v3.0 which will be released in early 2024.

v3.0 is 100% downward compatible with the current version (v2.5.x) .

Erm, now I'm confused. Now it says "Tone2 Icarus3 Upgrade mit Rabatt" and costs 79€. My invoice from literally 10 minutes ago says "Tone2 Icarus 2 upgrade", cost 59€ and the link only contained a icarus2.t2k, no license for version 3. I have no idea what I did wrong. @Markus Is there something in flux? Should I contact you via support email?

It seems to be caused by you web browser's caching. The cache still contained the old website with the deprecated link to the Icarus2 upgrade with extra discount for €59. This upgrade still did not include the Icarus3 license. But we'll take care of you and send you the license manually for free. Send an email to info[at]tone2[dot]com with a reference to this.

Hint: If you hit the 'reload' button in your webbrowser it clears the cache.

Well, wrong decision to increase the price like that. It definitely looks like milking the cash cow. So no purchase here.

The upgrade price to Icarus 2.0 was also €79.
We had reduced it a year ago to €59 as Icarus 2 was already older.
Reducing the prices of older products is a common practise in the software industry.

If you don't like to upgrade - simply don't do it. It is fully optional.

Icarus3 will be the final Tone2 product. After this only free minor updates and soundsets will be released.

I guess that CM Icarus 1.6 is VST2 only, am I right? No VST3 version...

Icarus 1.6 is over 5 years old. It comes with no Vst3, no native apple M1 support and a massive amount of features and patches are missing. You can find all details here:
