Took quite some time and effort to get where it is now CPU-wise. There are so many different nuances going on at the same time, it needs some CPU-power to do these reverbs justice. Remember, TENS is physically modeled and completely algorithmic. It doesn't use convolution.martiu wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 6:24 pm cpu usage too high, waiting for optimization update before buy![]()

Several years ago, I considered creating a plugin to perform physically modelling of a spring reverb, but after reading "Section 7.9 Helical springs" of Stefan Bilbao's book Numerical Sound Synthesis (Wiley, 2009), I decided against it because not only would there be a lot of work involved to get started, I was worried that I might never get it to use less than X00% of CPU where X >= 1. It would have taken me years.tonhelm wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 6:53 pmIt's already heavily optimized. Took quite some time and effort to get where it is now CPU-wise. It's a major achievement to get this to work, especially with optimization and all the bells and whistles.
Hearty Congratulations!

Not any higher than some other reverb plugins of high quality.

Just trying Jr. I normally avoid spring reverbs like the plague, but I can see this adding some nice plate-like ambience when used subtly. CPU seems fine — less than some plates I've used. Great to see a new release from Tony.

Why do you avoid spring reverbs like the plague?
