I use ableton but don't really understand how the tuner works but would be looking at different options i don't mind paying for something
I was looking at mixed in key studio but I don't have any music theory .
I just want something simple.

The Ableton tuner should work most of the time. If you have trouble, try cutting out all the highs and then use the tuner again, as most techno songs have a kick or sub bass that is tuned to the root key of the song, maybe it can pick out the key without all the distracting high frequencies. There's other plugins that do tuning too.
You can also drop the stems into rekordbox or any free DJ software to analyze. There's free websites that check key of song too.
If you can hear pitch well (despite having no music theory) you can simply play notes on a piano until the notes you are playing sound like it's in the key of the song.
Furthermore, you can just look at the waveforms using an EQ or span and can deduce the key from this. This is how I usually figure out the key for house / techno.

Yea, if you already have the DJ software, then it should solve the problem. Sometimes the DJ software isn't perfect, but for the most part it should get the job done. Good luck!
