I would've thought that they'd want to rise to that challenge.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Perhaps the reason *why* Yamaha finds Steinberg to be a sensible deal is that S has finally gotten to a protection model (through partnership with Syncrosoft) that presents a level of protection that Yamaha deems acceptable - in order to put out more products in a software form. The latest Syncrosoft driver model also allows for the protection of content assets as well as programming. That plus the near ubiquity of ASIO and VST and cross-platform compatibility might make for a relatively complete picture, from a hardware-centric company's standpoint.

hmm lets see - they cracked sonar 4.0 (over 50 reported bugfixes for 4.01) - they cracked fruity 5.0 - not as many but a fair few - bfd 1.00 - so may updates/upgrades

they have already wasted one quarter of the time available to do it before the nex cubase comes out to steal all our money :D
