I doubt they stripped down the number of operators because otherwise it would have made costs enormous.
I bet they just goofed up their reasoning that Ableton's Operator is so popular, overlooking the fact you can plop down a million of them with impunity.

Yeah, I ummmed and ahhhhed over the Analog-4 v Analog Keys but I decided the standard synth form factor would be much easier on stage, even if it's harder to cart around. It also makes it much more useful stand-alone.DrGonzo wrote:Never tried any of the Digis, but I kind of felt the new form factor to be quite nifty.Stupid American Pig wrote:I just sold my digitakt because Im not a fan of that form factor.
What was it that you didn't like?

PM me and I'll send you my Digitone sample library. That way you can judge the sounds for yourself.egbert101 wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 8:59 pm 6 years later...
Does anyone still use the Digitone? Is it still good? Is it still current. I'm getting huge G.A.S. for one.

I’m still using mine often…if you love the Elektron workflow and want poly fm there isn’t anything else like it…I thought I may get rid after o got a Syntakt but no…that said, you can often see them pretty cheap second hand…elektronoughts buy/sell forum is the place to watch!

Thanks but no need. I'm already hugely impressed by the preset sounds. Just wondering if it's still current or growing or declining in popularity. (I assume it's still current.)Uncle E wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 9:16 pmPM me and I'll send you my Digitone sample library. I have an Analog Four, and I find Overbridge works best for me, skipping the complexity of using the interface. I have recently bought Opsix Native, and it's absolutely amazing. I think FM is super good and Digitone sounds super good even with four operators.SLiC wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 9:20 pm I’m still using mine often…if you love the Elektron workflow and want poly fm there isn’t anything else like it…I thought I may get rid after o got a Syntakt but no…that said, you can often see them pretty cheap second hand…elektronoughts buy/sell forum is the place to watch!

Still using it here, too! It doesn't get as much use as some of my other Elektrons (Digitakt, Syntakt, and RYTM mk2), but it's a great little box.

Digitone has continued to receive firmware updates from Elektron and it's a great little synth! I still use mine.egbert101 wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 8:59 pm 6 years later...

It's on my list to buy, I tend to wait until the G.A.S. goes away and then buy it based on whether I actually need it. Of course I need it!
