While we currently don't have presets specifically modeled after his style, I'm thrilled to take this suggestion back to our team. It's ideas like these that help us enhance our product and cater to the diverse musical tastes of our user base.
George, you are really underselling that AI bot you are using for forum replies. Train it to dial OBXD presets, put that thing to work. I bet the bloody thing already knows who Jan Hammer is, who were his romantic interests, and what songs he has written.

Oh and can you write me some fresh Dostoevsky novels while you're at it? It's been a while since Fyodor wrote one. It could do with the sequels.

Hey Chimey,

Just to clear things up, it's all humans here. George's (our CEO) new support team is real people, tackling your suggestions and questions head-on. As for getting an AI to whip up Jan Hammer-style presets, that's a cool thought, but we're not there yet :)

Warning. Skynet has assimilated. Resemblance is uncanny. Resistance is futile. Proceed to exits slowly. :borg: :borg: :borg:

Hello mcbpete,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your payment. Could you please provide some more details about the issue? It would be helpful to know the payment method you were using and any error messages you received. In the meantime, you might want to check if your bank has any restrictions on online transactions. Feel free to contact us directly at our support page for further assistance.
Hi again, this was with trying to pay for the crossgrade using Paypal. I was redirected to the Paypal login OK and then redirected back to the Fastspring page but then after clicking the 'accept terms and conditions' switch and clicking next it would bring up the following 'error' page:
Order Failed
We regret that your payment or order could not be accepted. There are many reasons why this might occur. We value your business and would like to help you complete this order
I tried again a couple of times again today but the same thing happens - I've been able to purchase other things using Paypal since trying this on Saturday and they've successfully gone through.

Switching the payment type to the credit/debit card option rather than Paypal seemed to successfully process my crossgrade order however....

@mcbpete
Hello again,

Thank you for providing more details about your payment issue. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with PayPal. Sometimes, our payment processor FastSpring may disable PayPal as a payment option due to internal security reasons that are not disclosed to us. This is an action taken by FastSpring, and unfortunately, it's beyond our control. I'm glad to hear that you were able to complete your purchase using a credit/debit card instead. If you have any further questions or need assistance with anything else, please feel free to reach out to us at our support page.

Maybe one has to use the same payment method for the upgrade or crossgrade as for the original version bought? Just an idea...

I've used Paypal for all previous discoDSP purchases (and other fastspring hosted commerce pages), this is the first time I couldn't use it.

We are excited to announce the Release Candidate 1 of OB-Xd 3.1, available now for both Mac and Linux in demo and registered versions.

This latest version comes as a quick replacement for the previous 3.0 release. We identified and addressed a critical issue where the software was experiencing crashes on MacOS with Intel chips.

Our team has worked diligently to resolve these issues, and we are confident that OB-Xd 3.1 will offer a much more stable and enjoyable experience for our Mac users, alongside our continued support for Linux users.

Key Features of OB-Xd 3.1:
  • Improved stability on MacOS, particularly for Intel chip users.
  • Enhancements in performance for both Mac and Linux platforms.
  • Save Preset to Disk uses the correct .FXP file extension.
  • Framework update.
The OB-Xd 3.1 Release Candidate 2 will now include the Windows build. This version wasn't initially released as there have been no major issues reported so far.

We encourage both new and existing users to download and explore the capabilities of OB-Xd 3.1. For our registered users, the release candidate update is available in your account for immediate download.

I recall the time when Thomas Scarbee couldn't sell me his 88S Rhodes library. Some problem in his store at the time. I spent a few hours trying to pay and get it, alas, to no avail, all errors. Ultimately, he apologized for wasting my time instead of using it to play the library, acknowledged the situation was his bad and sent me the license. I told him that was a rare classy move amongst developers and that I'd make sure to thank him later at some point. Now he's out with Sun Bass library and I didn't think twice.

But this is a different class Scarbee is entirely. You will not see it here, no.

Is there or will there be a skin for this like the dark grey in V2?

Absolutely, we're definitely working on new skins. It's fantastic to hear that you liked the dark grey skin in V2. We're putting a lot of effort into creating skins that not only look great but also enhance your experience with V3. Stay tuned for some exciting updates, and thanks so much for your enthusiasm and support.
