Is that right? So those with problems can play many tracks without issue if the live track is not armed?m-ac wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 11:35 am Live tracks seem to be where 99% of users have problems with avenger.

I just tried 64 instances of Avenger with 1 playing live, and I was surprised to find it added very little extra CPU hit. Everything playing fine in Windows Cubase 13 with ASIOguard on low.

I can run 44 instance (acid preset) on a 2015 old laptop with 32 go on win 10
But it's hell with a 3 osc, unisson, and a reverb. Just a simple chord, 16 notes of polyphony.
Something I also notticed, Avenger is going crasy with cpu and cracks when the plug is open.
Basically i can play 44 instance/track, but not if I open an instance.

I dont believe Manuel is doing stress tests with Avenger.
I think its the heaviest instrument plugin on the market. Access Virus C might be heavier on CPU but because its much lighter on Ram i can use much more isntances then Avenger 2.

Despite my better judgement (see above: no demo) I decided to rent to own Avenger so I'd only be out one month at worst.msvs wrote: Sat Dec 02, 2023 9:15 am some seem obsessed with spikes.
Short spikes will always be there, since on generation of a sound after note press,
Playing a factory patch - PD Cinematic 2. Changing no knobs or anything else, just playing three note chords, I get CPU spikes and crackles every minute or so. (M1 Max MBP, 64GB RAM). I don't encounter this with any other plugin that I own.

Yes, I posted my results to your other thread but playing some patches live cause Logic to spike the cpu and causes cuts and glitches (Logic uses the last core for live input and it constantly peaks)noiseboyuk wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 11:37 amIs that right? For those getting the issues with live playing, can you confirm whether having the plugin GUI open or closed makes any difference?
Someone advanced the theory earlier that Cubase's ASIOguard was the reason why Cubase users aren't getting issues, but that can't be the case now because playing live doesn't involve ASIOguard.

As you know it's an emulation of the Freescale/Motorola DSP, not the Virus.
We can't compare with Avenger. It's apple and orange.
