No synth is even close to Avenger, Avenger defines a new class of synth.

Quite funny to see a thread asking this question. The reason someone asks this question is the fact Avenger overshadows every other synth without any exception.

From recent reports, Avenger is clicky. Blech. Meh.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

One synth to rule them all.

Falcon.

(and Spire)
(and Twin3)
(and Pigments)
(and PhasePlant)
(and… )

I see, so that must be the reason why people are wondering and desperately trying to find a synth that is equal or even better than Avenger lol

VPS sounds weird and bad and plasticky. They charge way too much for everything (packs, upgrades, etc) and they don't care too much about their customers because they keep switching copy protection.

Somewhere I've read Urs is not a sample guy at all, rather a synth guy, so you will not drag and drop samples into zebra.
What are wavetables (in his very own Zebra) then? Just specific forms of samples, read byte by byte like any other bloody sample out there

Dunno about 'weird, bad and plasticky' but agree on the rest. I've used that thing less and less lately and most certainly won't burn any money on the upgrade.

Falcon is more powerful for sure.

Multitimbral, more oscillator types, more or less unlimited numbers of oscillators, filters, fx busses, modulators, you can build your own interfaces, much deeper sampling, more sequencers and midi effects via scripting.

Msoundfactory is probably the deepest but not as easy to use as Falcon or Avenger.

Avenger is easier/nicer to use than Falcon, imho.

ALL of them sound amazing and capable of pretty much any sound you can think of.

I'm spending most of my time on Current because its feature set is the most pragmatic, it's the most usable of them all and the effects are glorious (except for the reverb).

Avenger is easier to use than Falcon but I think Rapid is the easiest to user of all the 'Uber' synths...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I got over that idea a long time ago... I enjoy lots of synths that all get along and cooperate :)

I stopped reading there, as I always do with such ridiculous replies. There are a lot of great synths out there and acting like any is a zillion times better than everything else is absurd...

Yeah Rapid is great in terms of usability.

I do think the basic sound is less refined than Avenger or Falcon but I mean that in a good way.

It can get really aggressive!

Uh, no. If we want to get technical, sure, a wavetable is made of single cycle samples but that isn't generally what is considered "samples." A wavetable is a bunch of single waveforms placed in a 2d table. It can be made from a sample (with certain software) but that is just one way to generate a wavetable. Sorry, reading my comment it's not super clear what i'm trying to state.
