How many reverbs do you use on one track?
On YouTube I saw someone using
Room
Plate
Chamber
on a guitar only.
Ain't that a bit too many?
Isn't chamber and room more or less the same, I know chambers were used in separate rooms, not in the room the performance was recorded.
But room + one more room (chamber) =
quite a lot of room.
Wouldn't it make sense to use one reverb
for the whole project to make it sound like it was recorded in the same room?
But vocals are generally recorded in a room whether it's in your home studio, bed room or professional studio, so vocals already always have some room sound, so adding one more room somehow makes no sense.

Well, that depends on which instruments are being used. In tracks where Avenger is involved, I often have to use over 125 reverbs just to make it sound good. Otherwise, just one, really.

Avenger's reverbs are outstanding and many a man would like to have Avenger 's fx only to use it outside AvengerenCiphered wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:40 am Well, that depends on which instruments are being used. I have been using gated reverb on snares recently, but I will probably just bake it into samples instead. Trying to avoid effects as much as possible.

?
This thread is about a serious and important topic!
And your post obviously is no contribution.

Best practice would put a single reverb on an effects buss send. The more verbs you stack the less control and your mix troubles will surface quickly.

Latest project has 40 tracks of which 4 are reverbs and 2 are delays. There are also a couple of on track reverbs. So I guess between 3 to 7 usually. More delays usually, but depends.

some people don't realize when a topic is beaten to death... i just call it obsessive-reverb disorder

Some just don't realize it's not about listing reverbs here, but how to use!
I also can't understand why so many reverb threads have been opened with stupid topics.
My thread 1st, last and never used reverbs has 65 replies, so it doesn't seem to be a boring topic obviously. And I have already received my 50 replies-voucher.

depends what you want to achieve with the sound.
