I'm lost... why is Arturia evil again now? They'd turned into the goodies I thought.
Can't keep up.

Arturia are still good, and Pigments is actually one of the best too. But their $200 charge for upgrades is getting a bit much, if you own both FX Collection and V Collection. Yes, they usually reduce those down after another year, but who has time to wait?

It works out to about $40 to $50 per new instrument. People happily pay $199+ for a single instrument from other developers.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Beside the discount I will need to try each plug-in and see if I can blend with them. Pigments brought something really refreshing with the multiple engines, arp, seq and fun workflow.PebbleInAStream wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:01 amIf you're looking to get into V Collection (particularly the titular V Collection 10 everyone's waiting for), AFAIK it's cheapest to get an older version then upgrade (upgrade is only $100 right now, although obviously that's to V9 not V10)... obligatory disclaimer, that I am myself trying to sell my own older version of V Collection after deciding to change things up a bit.Biscotto wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 2:13 am I’m really considering buying the whole Arturia software product line and get rid of my other tools…
Probably starting with the FX bundle.
Just for the fact of being offered such a discounts on bundles and Pigments based on free stuff I owned in my account, it speaks volumes about this company.![]()
The rest of the collections is more about sound than workflow and that is the thing I need to focus on.

I feel bad because I never use it. It's a great synth but I've settled on others for the general purpose use I would use it for. It's easy to use and sounds great.
I do think it is basically the best looking synth though.

Well if their free upgrade policy changes you'll be less screwed than early adopters anyway
Also the biggest bottleneck of this thing is the performance which is usually solved with time...

It’s not the cost, I use the discount if available, but the tool itself that I’m after.YesYeah wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 8:56 pmWell if their free upgrade policy changes you'll be less screwed than early adopters anyway![]()

I have an crossgrade offer in the current 50% sale for 149 to v9. I own the FX collection.
Does anyone know about crossgrade offer pricing after the current deal? The update from one to the next versions seems 199, right?
When it's 149 (crossgrade) + 199 (update) to v10 it seems more expensive than to wait. With the benefit to see what's included.
Does it make a difference when you have Analog Lab Pro to update/crossgrade to the collection? Analog Lab Pro is quite cheap at the moment at 50.

If you don't have Analog V or V Collection yet, unless you are looking to upgrade immediately to V10 whatever the offer (which will likely be $199 or more), get V Collection 9 right now.midi_transmission wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:54 am I have an crossgrade offer in the current 50% sale for 149 to v9. If you want to save money, are not looking for immediate sound design with some specific V Collection synths, and can wait for V Collection (10; should be out this month as per the trend), grab Analog Lab V now for much cheaper price and start fiddling with the hundreds of presets it comes with. There are even some awesome sound banks that you could buy while they are on sale. There will likely be upgrade/crossgrade from Analog Lab V to V Collection 10, but it may cost $299 (not exactly sure though).
Overall, I'd say it may be better to get Analog Lab V right now if you are not exactly sure about V Collection irrespective of the sale price or potential future upgrade.

Thanks for the advise. I have no real need. Actually, I was not planing to get any aturia synth, I was only lured by the offer and the good experiance with their eco system from using fx suite. 149 is an amazing value for v9 and it's sometimes fun to have the same limits as the orginal unit. Otherwise I love to use Diva, but it's something different than an 1:1 emulation (not better or worse, just different).
I would prefer the Softube synthesizer as it is said to be a touch above Arturia in terms of quality. But Softube is out of the game for me due to iLok. That's why I'm considering arturia again or just skip the whole idea and just stay with Diva.
