There is a temporary workaround involving adjustments to graphics card settings over on the Steinberg Cubase forum (https://forums.steinberg.net/t/graphic- ... /876276/75). If you're lucky, it might be applicable to your graphics card.

I've given up on Cubase 13 for now and have gone back to 12. I don't think Steinberg "get" Windows as a platform. Hence the weird caption bar menu thing on 12 and the UI problems in 13 that went unnoticed during development/testing/beta by Steinberg.

Good to see that Microsoft is working with SB to find and solve the issues :

I had a quick look at the Steinberg forums, rarely if ever go there. Looks like it's not everyone, but a lot of people got fkd GUIs. Not just AMDs as initially thought (mine is an i7 HP laptop). Makes one wonder what kind of warped beta testing they had - nobody had standard setups like so many of the complainants? This is a major design flaw, not just a minor bug, yet they must have either all had such esoteric custom-built systems they didn't test a fraction of standard consumer systems...or they knew it and released broken product anyway.

Anyway, I'll check out that "fix" later. Have to admit, I'm in no way a programmer or pc expert. Not happy about having to go in and reset graphics card settings. I'd have no idea what other potential damage I'd be doing for graphics on other programs. Not good Steinberg. First time I ever jumped early on an upgrade and got severely bitten on the arse. That'll learn me - never again.

I tried those "Workarounds" on my Amd 6700 XT and it was still crapping out so i went back to V12.
This reminds me of when V12 was released which also had gui bugs in the vst window except this one is worse and makes it impossible to work with.

I haven't noticed any GUI glitch! But I only used the score editor and little bit the arrangement. That's was on Mac M1 and a PC with nVidia card.
Anyway, it's always like that with Cubase! First releases are buggy, then they get ironing things and fixing bugs.
I would return to v12 and wait 3 months or so till they release a rather stable minor version.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Had a proper session with it yesterday and the more I used it the worse it got. The editors were worse than the arrange screen. Had to go back to 12.

I noticed glitches (graphics showing up in areas they shouldnt such as icons popping up on/through the piano roll) too in C13. This with an Intel Arc A750 videocard.

C12 doesn't do this. I went back to C12 a month ago and have been pretty happy. C13 needs more time in the oven and I'm guessing by March or April it will be alright.

Got back from holiday and tried out that graphics fix in the Nvidia control panel and it seems to have worked so far. Haven't played much yet, so can't say for sure, but the flashing buttons/f**ked dropdowns/scrambled lists seem to behave initially. Next step is try the 13.020 update - sounds like for some people it brought back the graphics issue, so I'm wary of touching it...

Post

I tried the 13.020 demo for a bit:
No graphical glitches here.
+ I like the recording of plugins directly to an audio track.
- Groove Agent still has drag and drop issues when scaled.
- Stock plugins still can't be independently scaled.

I'm going to skip this .5 update or (maybe) wait until it's 50% off.

A Microsoft representative is involved in the forum, collecting debugs and logs. They are still trying to find the cause of the GUI issues. They want more people to send in logs.
Seems like Cubase 13 is using some new Windows features for rendering graphics. Since Cubase 12 is working fine. It is intermittent problems and not something you get all the time (for me atleast), therefor it's hard to re-produce easily.

Haven't tried using SB's "fix" since I only install the drivers for my gfx card, not the whole suite of software.. which seems to be required to enable the fix/workaround.
