No. Maybe in v3? But you can export slices from Life, import into Atlas and swap away. One app to do everything would be ideal.

I heard back from XLN regarding imports not replacing the current loop, and the cloud issue;
"There are several ways to import sounds - if you record a sample in the mobile app or with the DAW recorder you wouldn't want to instantly replace what's in Life. But I can see why you would expect the file import to behave differently. I talked to the product team and apparently this is on our to-do list for the future.
Life is a cloud-based product. In order to use it you upload the samples when you import them so they work on all Life instance on all computers. We haven't had any reports of it taking 20 seconds to upload though. Does that happen if you restart your computer?"
Along with the (apparent) lack of being able to swap out samples without losing your current settings, I think I might wait out for V1.x in the hopes the workflow issues are ironed out. Probably be half price in sales by then too.

Just a really tiny bit, not so much in common actually. More like a blend of Loopmix and Serato Sample maybe?

Wonder if this is going to be a major launch crash (like Minimal Audio Current) where a vendor mis-judges the market and/or their audience wealth and provides not-enough for too-much. I actually wonder how much useful feedback they received prior to launch. Do they have the right beta-testers? Are the beta-testers providing usability feedback or just bug reports? Are they pricing product strictly for Americans? There are only 13 countries with a 1:1 currency ratio with the US, about 30 with a better ratio and all other countries have a worse ratio. Canada has about a 35% penalty.

But it is a very manual process to build rhythms. Very different from Live and other beat manglers.

Despite the fact that, yes, Current is quite expensive, it also brings something different to the table. Original sounds that are great for a lot of different genres - not much bread and butter but who needs that these days - and the ability to stream and download an ever increasing library of presets and content.burkek wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:06 pm Wonder if this is going to be a major launch crash (like Minimal Audio Current) where a vendor mis-judges the market and/or their audience wealth and provides not-enough for too-much. Whereas Life doesn’t seem to be where it should be for a first release especially missing full XO integration.
Interested to see how it develops. ‘Life’ It’s now baby steps.

Yep, rendering and exporting the .wav file seems to crash the program. macOS Sonoma v.14.1.1
Seems like a fun little program though!
Edit: Seems like has been fixed

This is extremely expensive for what it is. Not impressed at all to be frank.

For the OP, would you mind putting in a quick summary in the top post as to what this is, so we don't have to click through first? It'd help give readers a glance to see if it's in a category they'd be interested in. Thanks much in advance

Easily confused? The thread is in 'Instruments'. It's a new product from XLN. It's called Life. The first post is abundantly clear.
