A long time ago I just started using IK’s Stealth Limiter. Are there better ones? Maybe, but it seems to do the trick, and I got it during one of the group buys where it was super cheap.

you can use barricades on tracks as well as the master bus (I think it shines on vocals - adding tape saturation compression and limiting in one go). you can always disable the compressor if you don't need it....DCrown wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 2:31 pm I think Toneboosters have some nice plugins, but I don't understand why Barricade includes a compressor.
Is it supposed to be a mastering compressor?

For tracks, many different ones. For mastering, Limitless. My go-to transparent limiter is Nugen ISL2. I master to -16 LUFS and abhor "loudness". I go for optimimal audio quality so my limiter choices may not be relevant if you are going for loud distorted audio.
