Is this getting closer to a final release?
I'm still on 4.4.10 with the consistent nag to upgrade to 5.0.11. I bought the upgrade during a sale and have been waiting for this to register it.
Was actually waiting for 5.2 (a x.2 habit I formed with Mixbus as that was always the version that had a full list of compliance recognition rather than just the current popular ones), but I'd like to start the new plan after this final version release.
When you all do your upgrade plan, do you have a point where you feel it's going to give you the best term of development?

The list of fixes in the 5.1 beta releases gets smaller, so I'd assume that there will be a 5.1 stable, soon

Changes in Bitwig Studio 5.1, Beta 9 [released 01 December 2023]
FIXES
Manually mapping a knob to a toggle button state was not working properly [34500]
Fixed some random app crashes when recording [34502]
Mono meter is properly wide again on Arranger track headers (a regression)
Package Manager: Now switches to populated tabs (like Installed) when current tab no longer makes sense [34482]

Betas are coming more frequently now with less fixes and no new feature additions. Looks like a stable release is close

For the sake of balance, where is generative MIDI, MIDI comping and MIDI capture?!

Always Read the Manual!

Only Midi Comping is unavailable.PieBerger wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 2:48 pm For the sake of balance, where is generative MIDI, MIDI comping and MIDI capture?!![]()

Bitwig has been able to create all sorts of Generative Midi for a long time.
And for Midi Capture, get Bird's Midi CAP. Super flexible and easy.

I got a similar program called rewind. It listens to midi and audio continuously. I have only used it for audio so far, but it's been fantastic.pdxindy wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 3:16 pmOnly Midi Comping is unavailable.PieBerger wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 2:48 pm For the sake of balance, where is generative MIDI, MIDI comping and MIDI capture?!![]()

Very good updates
It is difficult for me to return to another DAWs!
I'm learning the Grid step by step. I found an excellent free tutorial which currently I'm watching it. It is much better than the commercial one that I bought on macProVideo :

I think it's fundamentally understandable, only the phase and poly stuff need explanation, but they were explained on the official channel
Of course, the mathematics involved can be complex, see for example the compressor in the Grid in one of the packages, that needs head scratching

XNB is really a trademark. All his tutorial are extremely clear and detailed (sometimes a bit slow though).EnGee wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 12:34 am Very good updatesIt is difficult for me to return to another DAWs!

Bitwig is not for everybody, but for my own usage it is perfect and getting better exactly where it needs to be better.

Yes, I agree about XNB. His tutorials are done professionally. I've learnt other things from him like how to use my DeepMind synth.
Well, regarding Bitwig, I'm still testing my minimalistic setup in Linux, but I added Diva, so more reason to stay in Linux
