I won't be buying any more Arturia products. But I'm interested in what they are going to offer. Can they keep this expanding of more and more instruments going forever? Or is there a point where there's enough stuff.

Korg M1 is another notable miss in there. However that's probably more about Korg not allowing it than anything else as it's one of their premier plugins.
Also I feel like there's not much to be gained from their approach to synths on the M1. Like, it doesn't lend itself to their "the same but more" approach

There already is an M1 plugin.
Yes? I know? I bought it years ago. There's no reason Arturia would revisit that instrument, is all I'm saying.

Sampler (not an emulation)

The Pro-One has been done about as well as can be done! Arturia will not improve the u-he repro-1

Post

Arturia would take u-he's beautiful interface, stick some blinding white keys on the bottom that can't be hidden, add an enormous pop-out panel on the top, and about half a gigabyte of graphics bloat.

Post

The issue with some of the GUIs is Arturia spend real estate on showing the desk and going too far pretending it's a hardware device. That is the nice aspect to u-he's interfaces such as for the repro-1. It has a hardware look but it isn't trying to graphically model the room itself.

And in others they go too far trying to clone the 'look' of the old but do so with a flat vector look which is just so bland.

Functional, yes. But bland.

It's the only one that hasn't been updated (with Modular but 2600 is more popular) so it's most likely
Actually there's four synths that haven't been updated by my count, if we take the SEM to be the first of the newer, better era, So could be any of:

ARP 2600
Mini
Matrix 12
Modular

There's also stuff like the Farfisa, Vox Continental, Wurli etc, not sure if any of these need updating particularly.

I'd personally also love a CMI update one day to make it LESS authentic - give us the (optional) ability to easily loop samples without the horrible clicks...

The Mini actually has received filter model upgrades since the SEM came out. So it has had sonic improvements (they say), but not a totally rewritten version. The others on the list haven't received any sound engine updates I don't think. The Matrix-12 is much newer than the others though, and sounds decent. Couldn't have been much before the SEM? The other two must be almost 20 year old sound engines.

If they remade the Arp and Modular, that would almost be enough to tempt me to upgrade.

Yeah same here. Can't say I care much about the other additions so far, although to my surprise I've had fun demoing the acid v, despite thinking it's the least accurate compared to phoscyon 2 and abl3, both of which I own. The sub adds a nice flavor. I've been looking forward to an updated arp2600 for sure.

I think a 'pick and choose' bundle would draw in more new people than just cramming in more and more stuff.
Say you're interested in 2, 3 or 4 (or however many), and don't really care about the rest.

They could also do a progressive decrease in pricing as more are added - maybe full price for one, then less for the second one, still less for the third one, and so on down the line.

Any idea of the V Collection 10 release date?

Post

So the "new" instruments will be Augmented Brass & Piano, Minifreak V and Acid V? Those are not really new of course. No new drum machine? :(

edit: so the CP80 is actually a new instrument :dog:

Post

The Wurli is also looking different. Looking forward to that.

Post

I wonder if that means another Augmented series instrument and, in a couple weeks, a free intro edition? I was really liking it when Arturia gave us full version plugins for free haha
