I am selling off my modular/eurorack gear. It's not getting any use.

Just arseing around and read on Musicradar that you get some free credits on one of these AI vocal transform websites (Singify), so I gave it a go with Taylor Swift singing one of my more morose numbers. Sounds like she's been hitting the fags and booze a bit. Steady on!

Now that I'm done with projects for the year, I'm starting on my major studio maintenance project. So the studio will largely be out of commission for a few weeks.
I'll be disassembling my whole control room. There are a few things which need repaired and while our boy cat Orion was sick, it seems he threw up on my sub and was peeing on a pile of cables behind one of my racks (poor boy).
I look forward to rewiring the patch bay and updating the labels. I find that process to be almost meditative.
I haven't done any firmware updates for the stuff I use in quite a long time (more than 2 years?), so there are significant updates for a bunch of things. I've lost track at this point.
In the meantime, I hope to finally finish some of the videos I was working on over the summer, including the long delayed feedback patching series and my demos for Five12's QVL module. Luckily, I can do that stuff with my laptop, from the sun room. I feel very fortunate, to have more than one usable work space at times like this.

Cleared off a desk to set up the worlds cheapest and crappiest hardware DAWless setup.
So far: Liven Lfi-12, Aira S-1. Liven Bass and Beats arrived Wednesday.
January, either a Liven XFM or a Liven Texture Lab. February will be whichever one I didn't buy in January.
Doing this to be able to just jam out and not worry about faffing around with Waveform and VST, just poke and play. Will likely end up selling off the S-1 in March.
Somewhere in there will get a cheap digital recorder to record my jams. Just need stereo uncompressed recording, no effects.
Cheap, lightweight, easy to move when the time comes. Low maintenance, low fuss. Just what I need!

Played around with Nepheton 2 - loads of fun especially paired with Phoscyon 2. I could almost convince my ears I knew how to do drops and breaks.

Le sigh.
I haven't used any of my Native Instruments stuff for over 3 months, and I need drive space for video work. NI sucked up 422GB (!!) of hard drive, holy Hell! Who knew?!?!?!
So, as with everything ELSE in my life, if it sits unused for 3 months, it has to go. BOOM! 422GB freed up for video.
99% of my music is created with DAWesome plugins, or Vital, or effects from smaller devs (shout out to ValhallaDSP and Audio Damage). I just seem to have drifted away from samplers, oddly enough. I find it easier to create ambient/dark ambient/soundscape music with synths and not samplers (I know I'm weird).
The only samplers I have now are hardware. WTF? It's the 80s again! HELP!

Spectraphon update and super quick spin around the block. Sounds great, no time to dig in.
Bitwig update, crash, then crash, then ran OK. New filters and shapers seem cool. No time to dig in.
Mastering the next album, when I can snatch time away from other projects.
Posting on KvR while waiting for code to compile at work.

The singer and I put the finishing touches on a chillout/electronica song that she wrote. Now, I'm just tweaking the mix to finalize it. Planning to shoot some video for it this weekend.

Mucking about with my new quad-quantizer-on-steroids, Shakmat Bard Quartet.
The harmony dial is cool, lets you set up different scale options so you can flick between them.

Argh, giving up on hardware synths, damn things don't work well with my bloody vision-impaired eyes.
HOWEVER: I am keeping the Bass and Beats device (for now) and will set up a small guitar studio! I'm determined to re-learn guitar (nerve damage be damned) so that unit will provide backing tracks and my beloved Ovation Applause acoustic-electric will handle axe duties. On the shopping list: a cheap Tascam 6-track recorder and a Zoom multi-effects pedal.
And if G.A.S. wins - either a second guitar or a bass!
The DAW system is perfect as-is, just waiting for the DAWesome Myth synth to add to it!

Including new chaos and noise modes?
My list for today includes updating Spectraphon. Always happy to add new features to existing gear.

Chaos mode on Spectraphon is perfect for me. I haven't been using SAO that much, but Chaos is going to get a lot of use... maybe even more than SAM

I dramatically changed a track I determined to not be good enough. Too much to get into here, but I think I'll be much happier. -Always wait a few weeks before you let anyone hear what you've made.
