Right-clicking any knob gives this baffling context menu... ????

I thought the same. Weird.

Ok.... but I am hijacked by GFORCE , sorry : )

Does anybody else have this issue?

Windows 10. Live 11.

In playback, the GUI of OP-X 3 flashes.
It seems to be in sync with the MIDI being played from the track.

To the person who couldn't find the SEARCH function. Open the preset page and highlight SEARCH on the left hand menu (10 items down). You can now 'Enter Search Term...' (top left) etc.

im happy with Version 2, i dunno if i upgrade yet but seems to be a great new version with more possibilites.
Question is, is this a new VST/DLL or does it replace the previous version?

i had backwards compatibility issues in the past with the plugin though they helped asap out and you had to convert old presets to the new filesystem.

You can code your own modules in C++ for SynthEdit though, and I think MS-2 is one of the coolest SynthEdit projects out there.
Yes I'm well aware of how SE works but you're missing the point. It's not about "cool SynthEdit projects" it's about the claim by Sonic Projects that they eliminated the need for S.E. (just as Sylenth 1 had done after a similar backlash on the use of SE just to "wrap the GUI".

If you can code in C++ then you should have no need at all for S.E. other than out of pure laziness. The end user does not benefit one bit from the use of SE. There is nothing in it that makes it superior to all native hand coding. I'll point out the fact that no major developer uses it in 2023 as evidence. The use of SE makes the developer dependent on Jeff to fix any bugs in it and anyone who has been around for a long time remembers the infamous "mutiple instance" bug that affected SE in the early days and developers who used SE were helpless to fix that bug.

If Sonic Projects did indeed eliminate the need for SE then it wouldn't drop .sems (Synth Edit Modules). So if they did claim to have eliminated the need for S.E. the evidence would say otherwise and that would make them liars. That's my point. (Anyone remember Crysonic who made similar claims and were called out on it in the same way?)

Anyway, while this is a nice sounding little synth (in a market saturated by nice sounding little synths) I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it so S.E. or not I'm not likely to own it......

Isn't that a bit harsh? Lots of synths that are 99$ or more and have worse sound.
The sound is at least on par with the Gforce OB, which is by itself not a wonder of UI design.
And from a sounddesign perspective it's pretty flexible.

The usual Teksonic trolling.

IMO - OP-X Pro is worth the $$ even just for the awesome presets he created for it. Plus you get a synth to go with them to create your own sound designs, and produce tracks, etc. :)

The price is alright, but, the GUI looks pretty challenging...

Apparently, the flashing GUI depends a bit on the graphics card if it behaves well.
If you have flashes then it can help putting the GUI into the top left corner of the screen.

It actually works. Not a fix as such but it's better than it was for me.

I own OP-X Pro II. After v1.3.0, when VST2 is replaced to VST3, it does not work well in my VEP7 anymore. I'm still using last version of VST2.
I don't know whether it's a SE related bug or not, unfortunately I don't have other VST3 which is built by current SE x64 in the production computer.

Another issue I know
  • Does not work in 192kHz. Changing preset makes plugin silent.
  • Reverb length is not calculated properly. It is ignoring sampling rate : eg) Reverb is long in 44.1kHz, short in 96kHz
I will demo V3 later, I hope it works in VEP7 now :tu:
(and hopefully in 192kHz!)
