Hi Music Lovers!
What are the components of this drum beat (please exclude bass, lead and white noise)?
The kick and open hi-hat are self-explanatory, but what sound generates the groove? What is the source of this sound or how can I replicate it?

It is never one sound. It is always in how the sounds interact with each other, incl. how they interact with space/silence.

This is a deeper discussion around enhancing the rhythm of a piece:

There's also a snare there. It's mostly masked by the hihat but it's there. The hihat is what's creating the groove/swing, nothing else.ferdik wrote: Sun Dec 10, 2023 9:03 pm Hi Music Lovers!

There is a filter or similar synced to beat making the ghost/groove notes sounds different with every hit. I tried LP, BP and HP. Notch and Peak doesn't sound right either. Any idea what's used, please tell!
