I suspect a lot of that work may have been now done by Dave from DMG Audio.

but yeah, Andy's filters in serum 2 would be awesome (where I really would love them even more is omnipshere 3).

I’d say a lot of the mega-synths like Omnisphere or Falcon could use some Cytomic filter love.
I would love cytomic filters in omnisphere. Filters are omnis weakest point sonically. Great sound sources and effects, but weak filters. Analog modeled filters would make it so much more versatile.

As for cypher, I noticed they have updated product pages for it on rolis site. Wonder if they'll update it some time.

You don’t have a synth that’s an analog emulation and as flexible. I get that not everyone wants a super flexible analog emulation, but if you do, Cypher 2 is really the best thing out there, and I’ve tried everything.

i've emailed roli asking if strobe 2 and cypher 2 are going to be vst3 and m1 native. i still didnt got a response, but for what i read here, they wont. which leads me to this question:
how is rolli selling abandonware for around 180 € a piece?
i love both synths, but it would be crazy to buy them.

What did you read here? A bunch of speculation about what people think might be happening?

As it is, nothing has happened. Those prices are absurd.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Maybe to you, but if you’re a heavy MPE user, it extends the capability of your device by quite a lot, and therefore pretty reasonable to me. Even if you don’t use MPE, you will be hard pressed to find something that mimics analog as well that also has a similar feature set.

Strobe 2 and Cypher 2 are not Apple Silicon Native at this point? If that is the case, yes, I would consider them abandonware on the Mac.

What a disaster the Roli purchase of FXPansion turned out to be.

I could be wrong but I think they are Apple Silicon Native just not vst3, so other daws than Cubendo can use them native on apple silicon.
I could be wrong but I think Angus did that just before he left.

You'd have been happier if the company just folded and those products disappeared completely? Because I imagine that was probably the alternative. It's not like Roli ever had deep pockets and could have paid over the odds for FXPansion, so I'd suggest FXpansion probably made them an offer too good to refuse.

No, I'd have been happier if a company bought FXPansion who was committed to keeping their plugins alive. Then Geist and Tremor would still be sold and supported.

There may have been code/tech stack issues impeding the ability to updates those products. Software is a very complex and risky endeavour. Planning is required in order to make a code base that is extensible to future technology. This is only possibly to a point because future technology is unknown. It's easy to fail. Its like a car that rusts away to the point where it makes no sense to restore it. I own Giest and Tremor so I have skin in the game. But I also know about the limitations of keeping code working on current platforms and associated risks. We are lucky so many of our audio products still work, quite frankly. All software is a risk in terms of future viability. Some of it will end up not working. All of it, if you extrapolate far enough into the future. But, sure, you can complain about it. It is after all a failure of the company.

Or it might have just been abandoned.. left to die on the vine. Let's not give them too much credit for wanting to do consumer oriented positives.

I'm guessing Geist competed too much with the Akai products also owned by the conglomerate. And Tremor really didn't fit in anywhere in the business model.

Fxpansion’s story needs to be taught to MBA students as an example of how such an amazing company with likewise amazing products can still shit the bed due to poor management.
