Flanging is 2-3 ms delay, chorus around 10-20ms
Phasers are completely different more like filters indeed
I use em all of the time (flangers.phasers) for my hihats and cymbals, on tb303 it is also great
Chorus more on synths I see it mostly as a stereo fx. Not so much as modfx except for the CE1 clones etc those I use more as a flanger and is key to postpunk sounds.
CE1 on guitars and BF3 etc on bass is the quintessence of 80s postpunk sound. I f**king love that.
Think of Cocteau Twins/Cure etc

well, actually both flangers and phasers result in filtering...Septic Underground wrote: Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:10 am Phasers are completely different more like filters indeed

Amplitube has one, along with the entire Boss Katana lineup. I paid like $30 for mine (but this was like 20 years ago), they're still cheap enough you can get the actual pedal cheaper than a plugin usually.

Thanks, I have Amplitube, but haven't used it for months, would prefer having it as a single plugin. The actual pedal is about 140$ afaik.mothra wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:00 pmAmplitube has one, along with the entire Boss Katana lineup. It’s absolutely criminal that no developer has ever modeled a standalone BOSS BF-2 or MXR M117 flanger, and yet there are approximately 1 million TubeScreamer, Big Muff, and RAT models.DCrown wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:18 pmThanks, I have Amplitube, but haven't used it for months, would prefer having it as a single plugin. I am calling a boycott on all plugins until this inequality is finally addressed.

Phaser for me.... especially the univibe kind....
as far as standard phasers go the 2stage ones are my favourites

But nothing takes the place of a BF-2.
Next on my acquisitions list is the TC Electronic Vintage Guitar Pedal Bundle. It includes the SCF Chorus+Flanger and XII Phaser.

I join the boycott and would like to add a good cry baby wah emu.jamcat wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 7:28 pmIt’s absolutely criminal that no developer has ever modeled a standalone BOSS BF-2 or MXR M117 flanger, and yet there are approximately 1 million TubeScreamer, Big Muff, and RAT models.DCrown wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:18 pmThanks, I have Amplitube, but haven't used it for months, would prefer having it as a single plugin. Demoed a wah plugin by Kuassa, but the crybaby was not close to a real one.
Also BOSS HM-2 Heavy Metal (no priority! ) would be nice. Audiority has one, will check it, but don't expect too much

I am quite happy with Helix native effects, but still miss a BF-2 and crybaby.
Somehow Boss gear seems to be hard to emulate!?
What are we going to do during our boycott?

Which dev do we want to create these emus? , I am not sure yet.jamcat wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 8:36 pm Yes! AND a Crybaby!
Our demands will be met!
I'm going to print up some pamphlets to hand out at the airport.
When we will have found one or two, I will send a petition every day.
Boss (Roland) should try it
or maybe Yamaha haha
Well, Helix is Yamaha,
so maybe KORG!?

I have the most hope for Audiority.
But Luca keeps releasing obscure nonsense rather than giving the people what they want.
(The people want a BF-2, M117, and CryBaby)

I will send an email to Korg.
Maybe they'll surprise us...
But every dev who has released a green pedal should be banned
