Yes, but why do they call it 'inborn talent' even though you did all that 'hard work' in previous lives?vurt wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 4:38 pm A lot of baby animals, straight from the womb, are up and walking.
probably remembering previous lives.
Its like those talents I inherited from my ancestors who developed their own talent through hard work.
Maybe my memories of past lives are actually memories of what they did before I was born?

yes, that's generally what past life memories are said to be.Michael L wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 7:46 pm

Thanks. That makes all kinds of sense!!
It's like muscle memory, in our C++ genetic code (or in my case, B+)
Did you know people are using AI to create avatars of dead ancestors?
Soon, you can upload your gene sequence and AI will remember your past lives!

It's not as simple as that. I think talent is something that emerges from an inborn interest coupled with hard work and practice. So, while I think I was somehow born with a deep interest in music, it didn't make me talented at it, but it made the work seem less like work.

What he's talking about is the fact that we remember emotional events more vividly,
[/quote]
Do you? I don't think I do. e.g. My best friend fell of a cliff and died, right in front of me, about a week before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and I remember watching that on Miss Moodie's tiny B&W TV at school at least as vividly as any of the events surrounding my mate's death.
I think we remember significant events, whether for us personally or just moment's in time, rather than anything that might be specifically emotional. I can remember where I was and what I was doing when Charles and Diana got married and when the first Space Shuttle mission launched (same year), even though the former meant less than nothing to me and the latter was one of the most exciting events in history as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think it's significant vs emotional, it's both and also trivia particularly if it's novel.BONES wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 10:44 pmI think we remember significant events, whether for us personally or just moment's in time, rather than anything that might be specifically emotional.
And memories are not welded into our brains, they need regular re-remembering and the media would do that for your recall of Charles+Diana.

In 1981 when Charles and Diana were married, the media was television, radio, newspapers and magazines, ha-ha. But where I lived there was no broadcast reception, so my only media back then was VHS movies that I rented from a shop in town, and old books. So I have zero memories of their wedding.BONES wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 11:23 pmWhat media do you watch?Michael L wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 10:58 pmI don't think it's significant vs emotional, it's both and also trivia particularly if it's novel.
