Interesting, this is useful. For me the big problem is all the Kontakt instruments that I have. Do you see any way to list and categorize Kontakt instruments separately?qtheerearranger wrote: Fri Dec 08, 2023 5:33 pm Just want to share how i have my browser set up for anyone out there who is curious about how some people are using it. Ive scaled the pictures down as they took up a whole thread page if i didnt. Im using the collections still to organize my browser to not have a million categories.

You can load a library in Kontakt and save it as a vst/au preset by dragging to the user library. giving it the library name and then tag accordingly. I go one step further by adding utility, eq and comp and create a group and save that as a rack.noddog wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:37 amInteresting, this is useful. yeah this is possible. maybe with a lot of leg work if you have a lot of libraries though. you just save them as presets in ableton. for example i did action strings saved it as a preset called action strings and just put it in my orchestra - strings category..ozinga wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:03 amYou can load a library in Kontakt and save it as a vst/au preset by dragging to the user library. giving it the library name and then tag accordingly. Same here, OMG that a lot of new stuff, its like a new program! GUI is nice and sharp and snappy, love the tag based browser, Meld and Roar are top notch, generators and transformation are really useful useful and the new piano roll editing is also really well done. It's going to take some time to dig in to all of this stuff!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Just to improve things a tad more, you can now get rid of the greyed out Push 3 and cloud headings in settings (in the Library tab).qtheerearranger wrote: Fri Dec 08, 2023 5:33 pm Just want to share how i have my browser set up for anyone out there who is curious about how some people are using it. Ha, finally had the time to play around with it for a bit and came here to write the same thing. This is a HUGE update, so much new and exciting stuff! Surprisingly not quite sure about Meld yet, but I’ll have to dig deeper into the engines I guess. Love the GUI, Live 11 looks dated alreadySLiC wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 3:49 pm Same here, OMG that a lot of new stuff, its like a new program! About the same on a M1 Mac, I’d say. Which is good. But it’s still a beta, so who knows.Yorrrrrr wrote: Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:00 pm Great to hear! How's it going performance and stability wise (specially compared to v. 11 or 10)?

I have a question for those beta testing Live 12. Live 12 has a huge quantity of workflow improvement features, but I'm still missing a new mapping system : to me (and for my use) it would be a game changer to be able to choose between midi learning (like in Arturia and NI synths) and mapping in Live 12.
Mapping is exclusive (if you map your sustain pedal CC64, you can't use the pedal anymore as a sustain pedal) and goes through the chains and midi filters unaltered. It is very often a huge limitation, especially when using Live on stage in a way where you play "songs", with different instruments for each song and even different instrument between each section of a song.
Midi learning is like midi notes : exactly like a chain is filtering the midi notes, so I play a bass when chain 1 is active and a rhodes when chain 2 is active, I could assign CC11 to an Utility's gain in chain 1, to a macro in chain 2 or a filter in chain 3, and to nothing when the chain 4 is active. So I would be using the same knob (or fader) for controling different parameters, without excluding the use of CC11 for other tasks in the future.
The best exemple would be the sustain pedal : it could serves as a sustain pedal most of the time, but in some chains it could trigger a different function. With mapping, if you map your pedal, you can say hello to the sustain feature !
Some M4L devices are doing this, but I would be so happy to have this built-in in Live...
Am I the only one to consider this as a workflow improvement ?
I did propose the feature in the Beta Center Code, but it seems I'm quite alone in seeing any usefulness to this...

hey just want to post this here for anyone who has beta.. you can create sub category tags by using | after your main tag.
For example I have 4. Brass as a Catagory Tag. So if I do 4. Brass | (insert here) you can make a single layer nest. it unfortunately doesn't allow more then 1 nest but still pretty cool.
So you can have something like 4. Brass | Saxophone so when you click 4. Brass a new tag will come up that will include your newly added sax tag. heres a pic.

Right now? Good for you!. As for me, I'm tired of waiting. Joined beta since Live 12 was announced and still nothing. The cracked version is teasing me but I must resist....
